Die Faust zerschmettert alle Himmel und unzählige Welten - Kapitel 40

Kapitel 40

"When I was very young, I let out a really, really smelly fart that made everyone in the room smell bad, and they chased after me. I ran and ran until I hid in a melon field."

Long San looked at her in surprise and asked, "Are you joking with me?"

Feng Ning glared at her: "What joke? I'm serious. Didn't you say you'd tell me whatever came to mind? This stench reminds me of something."

"You farted, and then everyone's chasing after you?" Long San tried hard to control his facial expression, trying not to laugh and to hold it in.

Feng Ning nodded: "Yeah, and I even took a stick. Back then, all of us kids slept in one room, how could they tell it was me who put it there?" Feng Ning rested her chin on her hand and tried to think: "Did I go back from the melon field later? Where is that place? I think I let out a big, smelly fart in the melon field."

Feng Ning was lost in her memories, but Long San couldn't help but burst into laughter. He laughed so hard he couldn't squat down and sat on the ground. He simply sat there and laughed to his heart's content.

When Feng Ning saw him laughing, she got annoyed: "How can you be so heartless? I've embarrassed myself and been bullied, and you're still laughing."

Long San couldn't stop laughing: "Then what should we do?"

"At least show some sympathy."

"Okay, I really feel sorry for you."

"Yeah, that's right. I'm so pitiful. My friends kicked me out of the house, and I have to squat outside and can't sleep." Feng Ning rambled on, but Long San noticed something was off. Feng Ning was an only child from a well-off family, so how come, according to her, she seemed to live in the countryside, sleeping in the same room as other children, and there was even a melon patch?

Long San lowered his head and continued to apply medicine to Feng Ning, but in his heart he was thinking that he really should make a trip to the Feng family.

Long San never expected that the Feng family would come to him on their own initiative, without him even having to go.

He had arranged everything and rushed home with Feng Ning. The journey was very pleasant. Feng Ning was quietly, little by little, opening up his heart. He was a little confused about what to do.

Feng Ning also felt this journey was so wonderful that she didn't want to go home, thinking she might as well just stay with Long San all the way. She wasn't stupid; she could sense Long San's feelings for her, and she could also sense that he was still holding back. Although she kept saying she didn't want to be a fool, she couldn't deny that she liked Long San, and liked him more and more. She was so glad that he was her husband. She felt she had to work hard. Long San was so good to her, and his eyes were so gentle when he looked at her. If she put in a little more effort, she would definitely be able to dispel his concerns and make him forget her past.

Upon returning to the Long family home, as soon as Long San entered the house, the gatekeeper announced, "Master Feng and Madam Feng have arrived."

Feng Ning's heart skipped a beat. She looked at Long San and saw that his expression was not good. He nodded to her and said, "They are your parents."

Feng Ning was a little nervous. She held Long San's hand and said, "What should I do if I don't remember them? What should I say? Long San, you have to come with me."

Long San patted the back of her hand and pulled her along as they walked into the mansion. On the way, a servant had already informed Long Er that the Third Master had returned to the mansion, and Long Er sent someone to lead them to see the Feng family couple.

Upon entering the reception hall, Long Er and the Feng couple were sitting opposite each other, drinking tea. The atmosphere wasn't exactly harmonious, but both had smiling faces. Feng Ning glanced at them and saw that the Feng couple were both over forty years old. The man had a handsome appearance, but his tightly furrowed brows made him look slightly serious. The woman was stunningly beautiful, but her eyes revealed a hint of cunning.

Feng Ning looked at them, feeling a mix of emotions she couldn't quite describe. These were her parents?

30. Madam Long's Nightmare...

Feng Ning tried hard to think, but she still couldn't find a single memory of her parents. However, she recognized Madam Feng's face, she thought, because she resembled her by about 50%.

Madam Feng turned her head and saw Feng Ning. She immediately smiled and walked over to hug her gently, saying, "Feng Feng, you're finally back! Your mother was so worried about you."

Feng Ning was a little reserved and didn't know how to answer, so she could only say, "I'm fine. Don't worry, Mother."

Madam Feng released Feng Ning and pulled her up and down to look her over carefully: "It's alright, it's alright, it's good that you're alright." Feng Zhuojun, who was standing to the side, coughed and said to his wife, "Ali, don't frighten her, come and sit down."

Qiao Li rubbed her eyes and pulled Feng Ning over: "That's right, that's right. I was so happy that I forgot Feng Feng was sick and couldn't remember anything."

Feng Ning glanced back at Long San, who nodded. She then followed her mother to sit down, calling Feng Zhuojun "Father." Feng Zhuojun responded repeatedly, clearly quite pleased. Long San and Long Er exchanged a glance and also went to sit down.

No one spoke. Long Er was busy drinking tea, Long San looked at Feng Ning, and Qiao Li and Feng Zhuojun also stared at Feng Ning. Finally, Feng Ning spoke up: "Why did Father and Mother come?"

“We wanted to see you, but when we got here we heard that you had developed amnesia, and that you ran away after the Long family was robbed. Fortunately, your son-in-law found you, so we’ll wait for you to come back here.” Qiao Li explained with a smile, and gently smoothed the stray hairs at Feng Ning’s temples.

Feng Ning felt a warmth in her heart and had no more reservations. She threw herself into Qiao Li's arms and said coquettishly, "Mother, I missed you so much. I couldn't remember what you looked like. I kept trying to remember you in my mind. Now that I can finally see you, I'm so happy."

"Silly girl." Qiao Li hugged her and laughed, "If you miss us, just send us a letter, and your father and I will come to see you. You don't say anything, so we thought you were doing well here."

Her words were laced with barbs, and Long Er's face darkened, about to erupt, but Feng Ning said, "I'm doing fine, Mother, don't worry. Second Uncle and my husband are both very good to me."

Long Er awkwardly shut his mouth and took another sip of tea. Qiao Li then said, "In that case, I'm relieved. Your well-being is more important than anything else."

Feng Ning felt a surge of emotion; her parents truly loved her dearly. She heard Qiao Li continue, "You're such a willful child. Why don't you just get along well with your son-in-law like this? Don't always be so afraid of this and that."

Feng Ning didn't understand what she meant, so she could only reply, "Yes, Mother." Qiao Li continued, "Your father and I have discussed it. We can't let you act like this, so I brought Bao'er here. You should live a good life with your husband. Even though she's a daughter, she's still your own flesh and blood. Your husband won't mind. You're both young, and there's plenty of time. You can even have a chubby boy."

Long Er stopped drinking tea, sat up straight, and secretly kicked Long San. Feng Ning was completely oblivious to what was happening. She didn't understand Qiao Li's words, but she knew it was something extremely important. Could it be that she was pregnant?

Sure enough, Qiao Li turned her head and pointed to the spot by the wall behind her where the servants were sitting, and there was a maid holding a quiet little baby. Qiao Li said, "Do you remember, you had a daughter?"

Feng Ning shook her head very slowly; she had no recollection of the child whatsoever. She stared at the child, unable to look away. She heard Qiao Li say, "Back then, you went back to your parents' home to rest during your pregnancy, saying you'd come back after giving birth. But you had a daughter, and you said the Long family didn't like her and insisted on a son. Later, you left Bao'er with us, planning to talk to your husband and perhaps come back to pick her up after you had another son. But two years have passed, and we haven't heard from you since. We came this time because we didn't want you to be so willful; children are always better off with their parents. Don't you agree?"

Feng Ning was speechless. She stood up and slowly walked towards the child, a chill running through her. How could she be such a cruel woman? What decision had she made? How could she abandon her own child? If her husband's family hadn't accepted her daughter, she would have beaten them to a pulp. How could she abandon her child just because her husband's family didn't like her?

Feng Ning walked over to the child, who was nestled in her maid's arms, fast asleep. Her eyelashes were long and black, like two small fans; her lips were a delicate pink; her face was round and chubby; and her forehead was smooth and pretty. What an adorable and beautiful little girl she was!

Feng Ning felt her eyes well up with tears. How could she be so cruel? How could she abandon her own daughter? Feng Ning carefully reached out and touched the child's small face, whispering, "Is she my child?"

Qiao Li replied, "You silly girl, you really don't remember anything. You were pregnant for ten months and went through a whole day of labor before giving birth. You were crying and holding her back then, but you don't remember any of it now."

Feng Ning stroked the doll's face again, and the little doll blinked, waking up. She opened her eyes, saw Feng Ning, looked at her intently for a moment, and then grinned. Feng Ning exclaimed excitedly and happily, "Oh my, she's awake! She's smiling at me!"

Qiao Li walked over and picked up the child: "You're so happy just from a smile. Our baby can already talk. Come on, call me 'Mommy'."
