Die Faust zerschmettert alle Himmel und unzählige Welten - Kapitel 99

Kapitel 99

"Long San, I'm not feeling well," Feng Ning said coquettishly.

"I know, I know." Long San couldn't stop laughing, hugging and kissing her again and again.

“You’re laughing and happy even though I’m sick.” For some reason, Feng Ning’s eyes welled up with tears. She remembered that she had seen a woman who looked exactly like her, and that woman said, “I am Feng Ning.”

Feng Ning's eyes welled up with tears, and she punched Long San: "I'm hungry, I'm sick, and you're still laughing! I hate you, I hate you!"

Long San let her act willfully, wiped away her tears with his thumb, cupped her face in his hands, looked at her again and again, and couldn't help but laugh again: "Feng'er, Feng'er, you're pregnant..."

Feng Ning was stunned, not quite understanding what was happening: "What happened to me?"

You are pregnant.

"What are you carrying?"

“Baby, child, Bao’er’s younger brother and sister.” Long San looked at her dazed and silly appearance, his smile deepened, and he couldn’t help but lower his head and kiss her again, hugging her tightly: “Feng’er, Feng’er, we’re going to have a child, our second child, our baby.”

Feng Ning stared blankly, her mouth agape, hardly believing what she was hearing. Heaven really didn't like her; it really wanted to make her a complete mess and utterly destroyed before it was satisfied.

"I am Feng Ning."

"If you are Feng Ning, then who am I?"

The conversation was still lingering in his mind when Long San chimed in, "You're pregnant."

Feng Ning suddenly burst into tears: "Long San, Long San, what should I do? What should I do?"

Long San was startled and hurriedly tried to calm him down: "What's wrong? What happened? What's there to do? If you're pregnant, you should just give birth to the baby properly. What's there to do?"

Feng Ning shook her head. How could he know what she was thinking? She hugged Long San and cried loudly and bitterly. Long San panicked and pulled her away, looking at her face: "Feng'er, Feng'er, don't you want the baby? Don't you like it?"

Feng Ning shook her head again, hugged Long San tightly, and buried her head in his chest.

"What's wrong? What happened?" Long San's mind raced with a thousand thoughts, he was extremely panicked. He pulled her face from his arms and looked her in the eyes.

Feng Ning couldn't escape it any longer, and with tears welling up in her eyes, she stammered, "I, I... I'm so hungry!"

"Hungry?" Long San frowned.

Feng Ning twisted her fingers. If she weren't Feng Ning, what would she do with the baby? She could barely take care of herself, so what would become of the child? She had been happy for so long, and her mindset was no longer the same as when she ran away from home with Bao'er. She didn't have the courage, she was unwilling to accept it, and she dared not think about the future. The more Feng Ning thought about it, the more heartbroken she became, and she continued to cry: "What should I do? What should I do? I've been starving, and I haven't eaten a thing until now."

Long San rubbed his forehead: "Wife, are you really trying to scare me to death?"

He imagined several possible reactions from Feng Ning after she found out she was pregnant: some would be overjoyed, some would be shy and coquettish, some would throw a tantrum and scold him... but none of them would cry loudly and say they were hungry!

He hugged her and said, "I'll go cook for you right away." Feng Ning nodded, but held onto him tightly.

"Feng'er, I'll go cook for you."

Feng Ning nodded, but still held onto him tightly.

Long San gradually calmed down and stopped rushing to cook. He quietly held her without saying a word. Feng Ning was tired from crying and felt sleepy. This time, she was truly hungry. She rubbed her eyes, sniffed, pushed Long San away, and mumbled, "Sleepy."

"Then sleep a little longer." Long San now obeyed her in everything and didn't feel there was anything wrong with falling asleep again so soon after opening his eyes.

"Hungry."

"You go to sleep first, I'll go cook, and I'll wake you up when it's ready."

"I want to eat roasted sweet potatoes," Feng Ning said softly, somewhat puzzled by her own unusual appetite.

"Roasted sweet potatoes?" Long San was taken aback for a moment, but immediately said, "Roasted sweet potatoes it is, I'll have Auntie go buy some." Yesterday it was sweet and sour fish, today it's roasted sweet potatoes, isn't that a big leap? But whatever his wife wants to eat, he'll find it for her. Long San held Feng Ning and coaxed her to sleep for a while before leaving.

Something was amiss. Long San finished arranging the purchase of medicine and went to the kitchen, his mind filled with suspicion about Feng Ning's behavior. Although the doctor had explained that pregnancy could cause some differences in mood and diet, Feng Ning's emotions were indeed too abnormal. She had always been in good health; he couldn't believe she was fainting from cravings or hunger.

Lying alone in bed, Feng Ning was also lost in thought. Now that she was alone, she could slowly calm down and ponder. The woman who called herself Feng Ning was right; she knew perfectly well that she wasn't lying, she was just being stubborn. But if that woman wasn't lying, where did the problem lie? Why did they look so alike?

If she really isn't Feng Ning, then what about Long San? What about Bao'er? And who is she?

Now that she's pregnant, her initial thought was that she and her child would be homeless. But now, she thinks again, why should she back down? Even if she didn't have a baby, she would fight tooth and nail to win Long San over. Long San didn't like the old Feng Ning; he liked her, he liked her as a person. Even if her name wasn't Feng Ning, but Feng Naonao, Long San would continue to love her, or she would never let him go!

Thinking this, Feng Ning clenched her fists. Her heart pounded, and she was filled with fighting spirit. She needed to eat her fill and save up her strength so that she could solve these problems.

No matter who she is, she is still herself. Her character remains unchanged, her feelings remain unchanged, and Long San will certainly not change either. And then there's Bao'er. Bao'er is closest to her; she's her daughter. That woman who calls herself Feng Ning said so much, yet she didn't ask at all whether Bao'er was alright. She only cared about whether her lover was truly sincere towards her. How could such a mother take good care of Bao'er? Feng Ning gritted her teeth. Therefore, Bao'er is hers too, and no one is allowed to take her away.

Having made up her mind, Feng Ning suddenly felt energized again. When she first woke up in the Long family, she didn't know anyone, and everyone hated her, but she had endured it all. Now she knew many people, and everyone's opinion of her had changed. She still had Long San's love, and she was carrying Long San's child in her womb. What did she have to be afraid of? She had nothing to fear! That so-called Feng Ning was the one who should be afraid, humph!

Feng Ning got up, quickly dressed, and then ran to the kitchen: "Long San, Long San, give me more food! I'm hungry, I want to eat lots and lots of it."

"You're going to run? Don't run." Long San's face turned pale with fright, and he opened his arms to catch Feng Ning, who was crashing into him, and said, "You can eat as much as you want, but you're not allowed to run."

Feng Ning nodded, feeling very secure in his arms. She called out "Long San, Long San, Long San, Long San..." repeatedly with great enthusiasm, then looked up and gave him a big kiss on the cheek.

Long San was both amused and exasperated, secretly relieved that his heart was strong enough. Otherwise, his precious little darling would be crying, laughing, fainting, and making a fuss, driving him crazy and putting him, as a husband, to a real test.

Feng Ning didn't try to figure out what Long San was thinking. She ate two bowls of rice, a sweet and sour fish, half a plum duck, three roasted sweet potatoes, and a large bowl of soup. Then she went back to her room and had a nice nap. When she woke up, it was already dark. She found that Long San was gone, but there was a guard standing watch in the courtyard.

"Where is Third Master?"

"Master has gone to take care of some business. He instructed that when Madam wakes up, there will be hot food and various snacks in the kitchen, placed on the small cabinet in the room. If Madam wants anything else, just tell me and I will go and buy it immediately."

"What business did he go to take care of?"

"The bandits who attacked the Long family have appeared in this town. Third Master went to capture them."

Feng Ning's heart skipped a beat as she thought of that woman. She quickly nodded, saying she needed to rest a little longer, then retreated back into the house and secretly slipped out the window.

Feng Ning rushed to the small house the woman had led her to, but no one was inside. She wandered around looking for more, and after a while, she finally spotted a familiar figure at the alleyway outside the family restaurant.
