Nonsense? You're saying I'm talking nonsense again? Ah Bao, we must find Ah Bao! I took a step back. What's wrong with them? Why do they all say Fang Lei is Su Qiao, and Su Qiao is Fang Lei? Have they all gone mad?

No, I need to find Abao! But where is Abao? Right, she said she's staying at a hotel arranged for her by the police! I'll go to the police station and ask, and find Ni Ming! Besides, Ni Ming can tell who Fang Lei is and who Su Qiao is!

Thinking of this, I rushed out of the school gate.

"Stop Lin Xiao! Something's wrong with him!" I heard Su Qiao say to Li Yang from behind. I ignored her and rushed to the school gate as fast as I could, jumping into a taxi.

"Driver, to the police station!" I said to the taxi driver. I glanced at the rearview mirror and saw that Su Qiao and Li Yang had also jumped into a taxi and were following behind me.

"Master, can you hurry up?" I asked anxiously.

"Okay." The taxi driver stepped on the gas, and our car gradually pulled away from them. But before I could even feel happy, I noticed that Su Qiao and Li Yang's taxi had also sped up, relentlessly following behind me. Damn it! I clenched my fists, hoping the driver would go even faster so I could shake off the cars behind me!

We were only two or three intersections away from the police station when I glanced at the rearview mirror and saw Su Qiao sitting in the passenger seat, making a phone call. Who was she calling?

When we finally arrived at the police station, I pulled out a bill and threw it to the driver, saying, "Keep the change." Then I jumped out of the taxi and rushed into the police station.

"Hey, who are you looking for?" a policeman stopped me at the door and asked.

"I need to find Ni Ming, I have something very important to say!" I looked back anxiously, and Su Qiao and Li Yang's taxi had already caught up with us.

“Our captain just led them out!” the policeman replied.

"Just went out?" Why didn't you go out earlier or later?

"He just received a report and went out. If you have an emergency, I can leave a message for him," the police officer said.

A police report hotline? What a coincidence! A police report hotline at this hour? A phone call? I suddenly remembered that I clearly saw Su Qiao making a phone call just now! Was it her? Was she trying to get Ni Ming away? I turned around and saw Su Qiao and Li Yang getting out of the taxi and walking towards me.

No, I can't be with them. I took a step back, then ran away without looking back, heading straight for a taxi that was dropping off a passenger. I jumped in, closed the door, and said to the driver, "Quick, to the mental hospital on the outskirts of the city!"

The taxi driver glanced at me and immediately started the car. I only saw Su Qiao and Li Yang running towards me, but unfortunately there were no taxis left in front of the police station. They could only watch helplessly as I got into a taxi and drove away...

Volume 3: Delicacies of Hell, Chapter 46: Nightmare

"Dr. Huang!" I found Dr. Huang in his office, and he came up to me very happily as soon as he saw me, saying, "Lin Xiao, it seems that kind of thing doesn't happen in our hospital anymore, thanks to you and Fang Lei!"

"Fang Lei, do you know Fang Lei?" I felt like I had finally found a lifeline.

"Of course I know him." Dr. Huang looked at me with a strange expression and said, "How could I not know him?"

"Could you tell me what she looks like?" I asked hurriedly.

"Lin Xiao, what's wrong with you? Do I need to tell you what Fang Lei looks like?" Dr. Huang said.

"But...but..." I touched my forehead, momentarily at a loss for words to tell Dr. Huang that I had simply woken up and Fang Lei had become Su Qiao, and Su Qiao had become Fang Lei. Would Dr. Huang believe me if I said that? Would he think I had a mental problem and lock me up? Thinking of this, I swallowed back the words I wanted to say.

"Lin Xiao, is something wrong with you?" Dr. Huang closed the office door and asked with concern, "There are only the two of us here, so you can tell me the truth."

"Dr. Huang..." I rubbed my hands together vigorously on my pants, feeling lost. Could I trust him? I was almost spinning around in thought when Dr. Huang gently patted my shoulder, gesturing for me to sit down.

"Lin Xiao, please believe me, I am a doctor." Dr. Huang seemed to sense my panic.

“I’m not sick!” I almost jumped up.

"Lin Xiao!" Dr. Huang reassured me, saying, "It's not only patients who need doctors."

Perhaps, I really need a doctor right now. Looking at Dr. Huang's sincere face, even though we'd only met a few times, I could feel that he genuinely cared about me. After hesitating for a moment, I decided to tell him what had just happened.

As I recounted my story, I could see that his expression remained almost entirely calm, though a flicker of surprise still crossed his eyes. After I finished, I suddenly felt much lighter; perhaps recounting truly is important.

"Lin Xiao, what you see with your eyes is not necessarily the truth," Dr. Huang said slowly. "Although appearance is something we always pay close attention to, don't forget your feelings. The feeling of loving someone will not change. If you truly love her, you should be able to accept whatever she becomes."

“Yes, it’s something we should accept.” I nodded and said, “But she didn’t just become ugly or beautiful; she completely… completely became a different person. How am I supposed to face her? Besides, even everyone else thinks she’s right and I’m wrong! But… but she really isn’t the same person she used to be!”

“Well…” Dr. Huang thought for a moment, then said to me, “Come with me.”

So I stood up and followed Dr. Huang. We walked out of the office and came to a door upstairs. It was a blue door. Dr. Huang turned to me and said, "This is a psychological counseling room in our hospital. You can come in and take a look."

Upon opening the door, the entire room was furnished very comfortably, without any of the coldness of a hospital. A red sofa stood out prominently.

"Lie down," Dr. Huang said as he sat down on the sofa.

"Psychotherapy?" I took a step back with a bit of resistance. Although I had taken criminal psychology as an elective in college, it was inevitable that I would feel psychologically resistant when I became the one being treated.

"It's not treatment, it's relaxation, to help you unwind." Dr. Huang smiled kindly, patted the sofa, and coaxed me onto it like a child.

"You can lie down in whatever position you feel most comfortable." Dr. Huang sat down leisurely in the chair, even crossing his legs. Seeing him like this, I naturally adjusted my body to the most comfortable position without any hesitation.

"Alright, let's talk then, anything is fine," Dr. Huang said.

"I...I don't know what to talk about," I said, somewhat embarrassed.

"Then... tell me about your childhood, the happy things," Dr. Huang said.

"When I was little...?" I squinted, trying to recall those distant events, which seemed to be covered by a layer of dust, blurry in my memory.

“Yes, when you were little, your parents, or siblings,” Dr. Huang tried to guide me, but I couldn’t remember my parents’ faces at all. They were blurry, just faint silhouettes. My parents were just an abstract concept in my memory. As for my siblings, Lin Yao? My sister? She seemed to be the closest person I could remember, but her face was also blurry, always like a pixelated image on TV. Only in recent years have my memories of her become clearer. And what about my childhood? I seemed to remember nothing clearly anymore, only blurry scenery, that small town, the scenery there, the people there—things that seemed to be buried deep in my subconscious, things I didn’t want to recall.

Mom...? Dad...? Sister...?

I closed my eyes, and saw golden rice paddies... the scenery rushing past on both sides... the azure sky... I felt a pair of hands gently encircling my waist, and someone pressing tightly against my back.

Who is it...? I tried to recall myself, but it was no use...

Beside her ear, she heard Dr. Huang's gentle voice: "Are you very tired? Then close your eyes... slowly... gently... relax your body..."

A cool breeze brushed against my face; it was the scenery I loved most in my youth, that expanse of golden yellow... and the faint scent of grass in the air...

I felt as if I had returned to my childhood. I always liked to take Yin Xue home after class by taking a long detour. That path that passed through a golden rice field was filled with many memories and laughter between Yin Xue and me...

laughter……?

Hehe... just like that laugh! I think I heard it again, but instead of the gentle laugh I remembered, it was... a piercing laugh...

The hands that had been lightly resting on my waist suddenly tightened, and I instinctively turned around...

"Ahhh!" I screamed, lost my balance, and fell heavily off the bicycle!

"Giggle~~~!" The little girl in red behind the car laughed unusually happily, but her face was pale, and she was constantly dripping wet, which covered the ground. Her outstretched hands were bluish-black.

I immediately stood up, only to find myself standing in a small river. The water was just up to my waist, and white steam surrounded me. The little girl was floating about three feet away from me on the surface. Her body looked as if it had just been pulled out of the water, with water droplets dripping from it.

The river water was dark blue-green, and the icy water stimulated my nerves. I didn't move, I just looked at her. There was no fierce expression on her face, but a faint sadness.

"Who are you?" I asked.

"Save me... Big brother... Save me..." The little girl in red cried out, red tears streaming down her pale face from her empty eyes. Her body trembled uncontrollably, like a helpless child.

"Then please let me go!" I almost screamed. "Give me back the real Fang Lei, give her back to me!"

"Save me...and save Xiao Qiao too..." The little girl in red stretched out her hands, blood seeping from her black fingernails.

Xiao Qiao? Who is that? Su Qiao? Why should I save her? I took a step back. But suddenly, the sad expression on the little girl's face vanished, replaced by an unusually fierce expression. Her eyes bulged, and she roared at me, "I'll make her pay with her life! I won't let her go!"

she……?

I watched in astonishment as she forcefully dug her hands into her hair; I could even hear the sound of her skull cracking…

Blood gushed from the little girl in red's hair; her fingers had actually plunged into her own skull! Seeing this sent chills down my spine!

"Please let her go, please..." The little girl in red showed a sad and pleading expression on her face again, but it was immediately replaced by a fierce expression. She used her fingers to tear her face down.

"Squeak~~~!" It was actually the sound of fingernails scraping against bone...

The little girl in red tore off her face right in front of me. A large patch of bluish skin was still hanging on her black fingernails. The skin was already festering and smelly. Her face kept switching between pleading and viciousness.

"I won't let her get away with this..."

"Please..."

"No... we won't let them get away with this..."

I heard two voices with the same timbre but completely different tones coming from one body, as if two people with identical voices were talking, or as if one person was talking to themselves in two different tones.

My body was being pushed backward, and she seemed unable to protect me anymore. I hesitated for a moment, then immediately turned and ran, struggling to climb out of the river and onto the bank. I didn't even look back, and all I could hear was the little girl in red screaming desperately.

Where am I? I kept running, rushing forward. I felt the surroundings getting darker and darker, then slowly brightening again. The wind smells so good…

I looked up, and there it was, the scent of mimosa tree petals drifting by...

I stopped in my tracks and found myself under a mimosa tree. In the distance, I saw four figures: two adults and two children... Were they a family?

I stepped forward, and there it was...who was it? The face was blurry and indistinct.

Where were the children? I looked again and saw two identical little girls, exceptionally beautiful, with big eyes, long eyelashes, and rosy lips. They were both wearing red clothes!

Little girl in red?

"Hehe, come here, let Mommy hug you!" The woman bent down and picked one of them up.

“Little Qiao always wants her mom to hold her!” the man said with a smile, but he didn’t even glance at the other little girl, as if she didn’t exist at all.

"Mommy is taking Xiao Qiao to eat something delicious!" The woman, carrying a little girl, walked side by side with the man, leaving the other one behind.

Softly, I seemed to hear the little girl sobbing, like a cat.

I walked over, and the girl suddenly lifted her face from her hands. Her face, which had been as beautiful as a doll just moments before, was now rotten beyond recognition. A black jet of water suddenly shot out of her mouth at me!

"Ah~~!" I shouted, but my body felt like it bounced up! I opened my eyes and saw Dr. Huang walking towards me.

"Are you awake?" Dr. Huang asked with concern.

Where am I? Right, I'm in the hospital's counseling room! Am I asleep? I glanced down at my clothes—thankfully, I wasn't sprayed with any black liquid! That must have been a dream, a nightmare!?

Knock knock knock! The loud knocking startled both Dr. Huang and me. Dr. Huang immediately went to open the door, and to our surprise, Su Qiao and Li Yang were there too!

I immediately jumped up from the sofa, looked at Dr. Huang, and instantly knew who had betrayed me!

"Dr. Huang, you betrayed me!" I shouted.

"Lin Xiao!" Su Qiao stepped forward, only to be immediately waved away by me with disgust.

"Lin Xiao, you need to see a doctor!" Dr. Huang stopped Su Qiao, who was about to come forward, and said, "I'll prescribe some medicine for you in a bit!"

“I don’t need medicine!” I yelled.

"It's just some sedatives and sleeping pills," Dr. Huang said slowly.

"I'll get it for you!" Su Qiao tugged at Dr. Huang, then winked at Li Yang before walking out of the counseling room with Dr. Huang.

Only Li Yang and I were left in the room. I glared at him angrily without saying a word. He seemed a little unsure of what to do as well and said, "Lin Xiao, stop making a scene."
