Глава 16

Tianxiu sneered: "I thought you were different from ordinary people."

Before he could finish speaking, his smile froze on his face. A tiny silver needle, as fine as a cow's hair, was now stuck in his slender, fair wrist—the very same poisoned needle he had been holding in his hand, intending to ambush Shen Yuntan!

A green line emerged from the needle tip, slowly winding upwards like a spitting out a bamboo viper. In an instant, the delicate blue veins that had been hidden beneath the skin bulged out, menacing like the gnarled roots of an old tree, gleaming with a terrifying green.

Tianxiu twirled a small silver knife in her hand and cut at the green line. Black blood spurted out, splattering all over the ground, emitting an extremely foul stench.

“What a potent poison,” Yun Tan said without even raising an eyebrow. “I thought you were extraordinary.”

"You flatter me." Tianxiu smiled slightly and changed the subject, "Yun Tan wants to share a room with Nineteen. Is it because you're afraid I'll plot against you, or because you're afraid I'll plot against her?"

Shen Yun snorted coldly and did not answer: "If you don't leave, the green line will reach your elbow, and even a god can't save you."

Tianxiu said nonchalantly, "Master often says not to be bound by physical forms. Has Yuntan forgotten that?"

Yun Tan coldly said, "You are just like him."

Tianxiu chuckled: "You've forgotten him. Master also said that one should not be soft-hearted when dealing with enemies. Shen Yuntan, if you don't kill me today, you'll be raising a tiger to cause trouble later. Aren't you afraid?"

Yun said, “What good is it to be like him? But I do remember him saying, ‘Don’t fight a battle you can’t win.’ It’s not that I don’t want to kill you today, but I’m not sure I can succeed in one strike. If you turn around and bite me, it won’t be a joke.” He raised his head slightly. “Furthermore, for your brother’s sake, I can’t kill you now. Besides, I don’t like killing people.”

"Pfft," Tianxiu couldn't help but laugh. "You don't like killing? Haven't you killed enough people? Not to mention how you survived, after your master died, your reputation in the martial arts world was quite high. You never cared about killing people."

Shen Yun opened the door: "Whether I kill someone or not, there's no need for me to report to you."

Tianxiu obediently went out, her wide robes like a butterfly. Although she was gone, she left behind a room full of fragrance.

"I will come back. Oh, not for you, but to see my nineteen beauties. The world is so big, but there aren't many interesting people."

"Pervert." He muttered under his breath, mimicking the tone Nineteen used when he cursed Tian Shu, "He's just a narcissistic, murderous psychopath."

He couldn't understand why Tianxiu kept trying to kill him, stabbing him cleanly the first time they met. Was it because his master had said that one of them, Tianxiu or Tianshu, would die at the other's hands sooner or later, because they were natural enemies?

Revenge is the most troublesome thing.

Some things, the more you care about them, the more painful it becomes. Only when you let go do you realize that they were all just a load of rubbish.

If Tianxiu hadn't repeatedly caused him trouble, he wouldn't have actually considered going to Jinhu Manor.

When the 19th of the morning came to knock on the door, he found that only Shen Yuntan was left in the room, and Tianxiu was nowhere to be found.

Yun Tan, who looked unwell yesterday, looks much better today.

“Tianxiu left without a word last night,” he said hastily, looking at Nineteen’s expression. “I didn’t do anything to him!”

Nineteen was somewhat disappointed, but comforted him, saying, "What can you, a patient, do for him?"

He finally breathed a sigh of relief; she was really easy to fool.

"Spittoon, you and Tianxiu, who's lying to me? You said you were sworn enemies, but he said you were good friends." She tilted her head. "Although Tianxiu's martial arts aren't great, killing a weak scholar like you would be easy. How come you're still alive? What's your relationship?" Her big eyes scanned her up and down. "You two aren't really that kind of relationship, are you?!"

Yun Tan almost choked on his tea: "Nineteen, your imagination is too rich." He straightened his clothes and said, "Nineteen, he really came to kill me, but maybe he didn't because he was worried about you."

Tang Shijiu nodded and said, "I also think you two don't seem like friends. But don't worry, he won't kill you, at least not until you go to Jinhu Manor."

Yun Tan asked in surprise, "How did you know?"

Tang Shijiu smiled and said, "Because in the carriage, I made a pact with him that as long as you don't leave Jinhu Manor, he won't kill you."

Shen Yun asked in a deep voice, "What are the conditions?"

Nineteen smoothed her black hair: "He didn't say. He said he'd tell me later. But he promised he wouldn't force me to do anything I don't like."

His expression slowly turned grim: "You just agreed like that?"

Nineteen nodded: "Why not agree? That way you'll be much safer. Although that guy is a liar, he was quite serious when he made the agreement, so he shouldn't go back on his word."

Shen Yun remained silent. His decision not to kill did not mean he would not order others to kill.

Seeing that he remained silent, Shijiu suddenly seemed to remember something, went to the mirror, took off the sapphire blue enamel hairpin, and wrapped it in a handkerchief.

Without the contrast of that precious item, the silver hairpin had its own unique charm and wasn't bad-looking.

He suddenly felt a faint joy, but as she took off her hairpin, his expression remained nonchalant: "Why aren't you wearing it anymore? That enamelware isn't something you see every day."

Nineteen turned around and smiled sweetly: "I wrapped it up and kept it, afraid it would get damaged."

"Oh..." My heart sank. She actually cherished it this much.

“In case we run out of money, this thing is still worth a few taels of silver. If it’s damaged, we won’t get a good price for it.” She carefully wrapped the cloth bag without even glancing at him.

However, he was also delighted, and this sudden change in mood frightened him.

"Nineteen, do you like Tianxiu?" he suddenly asked.

Tang Shijiu was taken aback, then burst into laughter: "Tianxiu? Tianxiu? I don't like that kind of effeminate guy!" He reached out and touched his chin, his big eyes blinking. "Hmm, but if he wore a white scholar's robe, was more masculine, had better martial arts skills, was richer, and had better literary talent, maybe I would like him."

He suddenly laughed, his smile as bright as sunshine, and reached out to pat her head: "Girl, come on, let's go downstairs and get something good to eat. I'm starving!"

Chapter Eleven Tang Clan

The two went downstairs together, and the innkeeper greeted them with a smile: "Young master, are you feeling better?"

Since Tianxiu left, Shen Yun has been in a very good mood: "Boss, bring me a plate of braised pork knuckle."

The shopkeeper frowned: "Young people these days know less and less how to take care of themselves. He's only just recovered, why is he eating braised pork knuckle?" He then complained to Nineteen, "And you, why didn't you keep an eye on him? What's your relationship? Are you fellow disciples? Cousins? Oh! I know, you two are lovers who eloped!"

Nineteen was both annoyed and amused, and was about to retort when she heard Yun say, "No, we didn't elope, we married. So, boss, bring me a plate of braised pork knuckle."
