Die Faust zerschmettert alle Himmel und unzählige Welten - Kapitel 81

Kapitel 81

"Hmph," Feng Ning muttered, "After all is said and done, my little darling is still the most considerate."

The young couple bickered and teased each other, while Feng Zhuojun ate in silence, afraid that the topic would come back to the same old thing. Long San glanced at him secretly, without showing any emotion.

After the meal, Long San had a private talk with Zhong Sheng and Shi Yulang in the small house.

Zhong Sheng said, "Brother, you were right after all. Madam Feng didn't live at the Long family's residence. After A Xiang got her letter, she secretly followed him here. As we instructed, A Xiang pretended not to know anything."

Where is she now?

“She’s staying at the Fuzhi Inn, which is two streets away from us,” Zhong Sheng asked. “So what should we do now?”

"Wait a minute, don't alert her. Keep a close eye on her and see who she's in contact with. She'll definitely make a move soon. As for my father-in-law, just keep it the same as before and don't let him know that someone is watching him."

Zhong Sheng scratched his head: "Brother, why are other people so happy when they get married, but you've had so many troubles since you married your sister-in-law?"

Long San was taken aback, and after a long while, he simply replied, "She deserves it."

That night, as usual, Long San and Feng Ning were entwined. Having confirmed that she was truly recovering and would not experience any discomfort, he clung to her tightly. Feng Ning, drenched in sweat, tensed her body and reached her climax, then suddenly went limp. She stroked Long San's back, speechless for a long time. She blinked, then felt sleepy.

Long San remained on top of her for a long time, unwilling to move, until she kicked him twice before he reluctantly got up. Feng Ning yawned, turned over, and was about to go to sleep. Long San got up, wiped himself, wrung out a cloth, and wiped Feng Ning as well, before returning to bed. He remained silent, simply propping his head up and watching her.

Feng Ning frowned, groggily opened her eyes, and reached out to wipe Long San's eyes: "What are you looking at? Go to sleep."

Her childlike tone made Long San chuckle. He lowered his head and kissed her cheek, then, seeing her mutter and push him away, he bit her lip again. Feng Ning turned her head and kicked her feet, displeased: "Let me sleep, let me sleep... I'm sleepy..."

"Okay, okay, you sleep, I won't disturb you." Long San coaxed her with a smile, brushing the stray hairs that had fallen across her face. Then, propping his head up, he continued to watch her.

After a long while, Feng Ning seemed to have fallen asleep. Long San couldn't help but gently peck her face again, sighing in his heart. He only hoped that she would always be as happy and carefree as she was, and that no matter what happened in the future, she would never leave him.

He was staring blankly at Feng Ning's face when Feng Ning suddenly opened her eyes and looked at him, startling Long San.

"Third Master Long, what have you done to wrong me?"

"Of course not," Long San replied quickly without hesitation.

Feng Ning squinted at him for a while, but finally couldn't resist the drowsiness. She yawned, closed her eyes and continued to sleep, muttering, "It's good that there isn't, otherwise I wouldn't let you off the hook."

She was almost asleep again, leaving Long San alone, lost in thought.

Two days later, Feng Zhuojun said goodbye and went out. Long San received several secret reports, so he told Feng Ning to take a nap, while he hid in Zhong Sheng's hut to study the secret letters.

He was frowning over the contents of the secret letter when Zhong Jian burst in, breathless, saying, "Brother, that Master Feng, your father-in-law, he... he did go to see Madam Feng, but..."

He was panting, and Long San comforted him, "Take your time, what happened?"

Zhong Sheng wiped his sweat and said, "But sister-in-law went to follow Master Feng..."

"What?" Long San was startled: "She saw you."

Zhong Sheng nodded vigorously: "We weren't on guard, we were just keeping an eye on Master Feng and Madam Feng. It turned out that my sister-in-law was hiding in the shadows and watching us all. She even glared at me. When I saw this, I quickly told Da Niu and the others to keep watch, and then I ran back to report to you. Oh, and I also had Xiao Douzi keep an eye on my sister-in-law, so that if they split up, we'll know where she went."

Long San calmed down and asked, "Did she follow you, or did she follow my father-in-law?"

“She must have gone with Master Feng. But now that you mention it…” Zhong Sheng scratched his head: “We’ve been keeping an eye on her the whole way, but we haven’t found her. Her ability to be a spy and follow people is too amazing. If we’re going to go into details, I really can’t guarantee who she was with. But no matter who she went with, she’s found out about both sides now.”

Has she shown up?

"No," Zhong Sheng said. "When I left, my sister-in-law was secretly observing Master Feng and Madam Feng. The glare she gave me was probably a warning not to reveal her whereabouts."

Long San stood up, took a few steps, and said somewhat irritably, "I should have been more wary of her. I should have thought of that. She's always been smart."

Zhong Sheng was puzzled again: "Beware of your sister-in-law?" This older brother has to beware of his father-in-law and mother-in-law, and now he has to beware of his wife too. This marriage is really quite tragic.

"Brother, what exactly does your wife want to do?"

"She knew there was a secret, and she wanted to uncover it."

"Whose secret?"

Long San sighed and sat back down in his chair: "It's a secret I share with my clever mother-in-law." He dared to keep it a secret until now because he was certain that Qiao Li was even more afraid of the past being exposed than he was.

"Huh?" There's a secret between him and his mother-in-law? Oh no, Zhong Sheng felt so sad. How could his wise, brave, upright and honest older brother have become such a mess? Women are trouble, that saying is really true.

"Brother, what should we do now?" Zhong Sheng felt sorry for Long San when he saw his furrowed brows.

"What should we do?" Long San smiled bitterly. "Madam Feng has hired people to keep an eye on me, Master Feng is biased towards her, Feng'er is keeping an eye on Master Feng, and now we're keeping an eye on Feng'er. In the end, Feng'er will come back and blame me... What can I do?" Long San tapped the table, pondered for a moment, and said, "You should continue with the original plan and not act rashly. As long as Feng'er remains calm and doesn't show her face, you should pretend you don't know anything. If she shows up in front of Master Feng and throws a tantrum, you should stay away and save her face so she won't get even angrier. Leave Xiao Douzi to protect her secretly. Xiao Douzi is a stranger, so Feng'er probably won't recognize him. Tell him to be careful; Feng'er is very clever."

Zhong Sheng agreed, then thought for a moment and offered a suggestion: "Brother, why don't you secretly bring your sister-in-law back? That way, you won't have to worry about her being exposed and ruining things."

Long Sanyi raised an eyebrow: "If I go to arrest her, I'm afraid she'll get angry and things will get worse. I absolutely cannot show my face. Anyway, if she sees you, just pretend you're deaf and dumb. If she asks, don't say anything."

Zhong Sheng seemed to understand but not quite. He scratched his head, realizing that pretending to be deaf and dumb was a bit difficult for him, but since Long San had given such an order, he would do as he was told. He gritted his teeth, agreed, and ran out again.

Long San rubbed his face in worry: "Feng'er, Feng'er, you're making a fuss again." But he just liked her making a fuss, what could he do?

Long San was busy all afternoon, desperately trying to come up with a solution. What if Feng Ning exposed Feng Zhuojun and Qiao Li's little secret, and it also implicated his own concealment? What if Feng Ning also pretended to be oblivious and remained calm? What would he do then? He thought for a long time but still couldn't come up with a perfect plan. Annoyed, he decided to stop thinking about it. Anyway, his Feng'er often did things unpredictably, so thinking about it any further would be pointless.

Long San was in a state of confusion, so he simply abandoned all those secret reports and stopped thinking about anything else. He went to the market to buy groceries first. He figured his Feng'er was probably in a bad mood today, so he would try to please her first before thinking about anything else.

Sure enough, as the sun was setting, Feng Ning returned with a dark expression, just as Long San was personally cooking. Long San knew that she had kept her temper in the afternoon and hadn't gone out to embarrass Feng Zhuojun and Qiao Li; she had only eavesdropped on their conversation and had run away after Qiao Li became alert. Her return at this hour meant she must have been wandering around outside.

Feng Ning stayed in her room as soon as she got back. After a while, she ran out to look for Long San and found him in the kitchen. She pouted unhappily and just glared at him without saying a word. Long San didn't mention anything else and just focused on cooking. When he had a free hand, he tried to touch her cheek, but she slapped it away forcefully. He then tried to steal a kiss from her by turning his head, but she dodged it again.

Finally, Feng Ning pointed to the dishes with great authority and said, "This, this, and this, all of these are mine. No one else is allowed to eat them."

Long San was both amused and exasperated. Just as he was about to say something, Feng Ning snorted and turned away.

At dinner time, Feng Zhuojun also returned. Presumably not wanting anyone to suspect the purpose of his departure, he returned on time for dinner, even though he was in a great mood after reuniting with his wife after a long separation.
