Kapitel 1

When Agu saw herself, she was having sex with her husband Liang Cheng.

In the intoxicating wave of light, she saw herself, or rather, a woman who looked exactly like her. At first, she didn't realize it, thinking it was a reflection in a mirror, but soon she was startled to discover there was no mirror at all! The woman was hidden in the darkness behind the door, wearing her favorite purple dress, standing motionless and still, like a large photograph of herself, but her eyes shone with a deep jealousy, a jealousy that burned like fire.

A-Gu screamed and kicked Liang Cheng off the bed. Liang Cheng was confused and hurriedly got up to turn on the light. He saw A-Gu crying while hugging the quilt and trembling at the head of the bed.

"Agu! What happened?" Liang Cheng asked anxiously.

“There… there…” A-Gu said in a trembling voice, pointing behind the door.

Liang Cheng looked in the direction she was pointing, but there was nothing behind the door. He turned back to look at her, puzzled.

“Just now… just now there was a woman standing there,” she said.

Liang Cheng chuckled and stroked her hair, saying, "Silly woman, you must be seeing things."

After a while, A-Gu's emotions calmed down a bit. Perhaps she really had misjudged things; she had just been too tired these past few days. She smiled, let Liang Cheng hold her, and the two comforted each other for a while before turning off the lights and going to sleep.

Suddenly, as if remembering something, A-Gu jumped off the bed and ran towards the wardrobe. She frantically searched the wardrobe, throwing piles of clothes out.

"Agu, what are you doing?" Liang Cheng felt that her behavior was very abnormal, so he ran over and pulled her from behind.

"Where are my clothes? Where are my clothes?" A-Gu broke free from him and muttered to himself as he rummaged through the pile of clothes, as if searching for a life-saving treasure. Finally, he sat on the ground, looking lost and his eyes filled with fear.

"Agu! What's wrong with you?" Liang Cheng asked, somewhat panicked.

A-Gu snapped out of her daze, grabbed Liang Cheng's arm tightly, and said urgently, "A-Cheng, you put away my purple dress, didn't you? Take it out now!"

"I'm telling you! You're like a blind cat trying to catch a dead mouse. Look, isn't this dress hanging there perfectly fine?" Liang Cheng took the purple dress out of the wardrobe.

"But why didn't I see it just now?" A-Gu asked in confusion.

"That's a question for your eyes. You little woman, you get flustered over the smallest things," Liang Cheng teased her.

"You're the one who's completely lost!" Agu burst into laughter through her tears.

A-Gu slept restlessly that night, feeling as if a pair of eyes were watching her in the darkness. But in Liang Cheng's broad embrace, she didn't feel much fear. She knew that Liang Cheng would protect her.

She is a petite woman, and she is proud of it because she has a good man.

Outside, a mother cat from who-knows-who was meowing all night long, its cries as mournful as a baby's.

A-Gu is a ticket seller on the bus, so she has to get up early every morning to rush to work. At this time, Liang Cheng is usually still dreaming. If it is the weekend, he will sleep even later.

It's the weekend.

Liang Cheng groggily opened his eyes and noticed a fragrant aroma wafting from the kitchen. He found it strange, as A Gu didn't have the habit of making breakfast and always went to a breakfast shop on the street.

Liang Cheng sat up and noticed a woman's figure busy behind the frosted glass in the kitchen.

"A-Gu?" Liang Cheng called out, but the woman seemed not to hear him.

Liang Cheng put on his slippers and walked into the kitchen, where he saw A Gu concentrating intently on cooking.

"A-Gu!" Liang Cheng called out again.

A-Gu turned to him with a bright smile and said softly, "Awake?"

"I felt really sleepy last night!" Liang Cheng nodded and said, "What? Aren't you going to work today?"

A-Gu was a little unhappy and pouted, saying, "Have you forgotten what day it is today?"

"Today? Today..." Liang Cheng scratched his head and asked, "What day is it?"

A-Gu rolled her eyes at him, poured the stir-fried dishes into a plate, and said, "You keep saying you love me, but you can't even remember such an important day."

Liang Cheng slapped his forehead, suddenly realizing, "Oh dear! Look at my brain, I forgot our wedding anniversary! I really... I really deserve to die!"

"I'm so glad you remembered! I specially changed my shift today, I want to spend this weekend with you." A-Gu smiled as he carried the plates to the table one by one and poured two glasses of wine.

The two sat facing each other. A-Gu was wearing that purple dress; she was quiet and slender.

"Is it hard to eat?" A-Gu asked nervously.

A-Gu said happily, "Then I'll make it for you every day from now on, okay?"

"That's exactly what I'd like to hear!"

"What if you stop eating my food in the future?" A-Gu asked again.
