Regenbögen jagen - Kapitel 25
Upon hearing this voice, Yuchi Siguang was slightly taken aback. He turned around and saw Ming Shuangchen standing outside the door with an umbrella, looking calm and composed.
“Shuangchen…” Yuchi Siguang called out the name, then felt it was inappropriate and changed his words to “Princess”.
Ming Shuangchen looked at him, nodded slightly, and then said, "This boy is now a member of my Nanling Prince's Mansion. You must not hurt him again."
Yu Chi Siguang frowned and said, "Princess... do you really agree to his marriage with Mingyue? Do you know him...?"
"Mingyue knows what kind of person he is, and that's enough," Ming Shuangchen said, glancing at Di Xiu.
Upon hearing this, Di Xiu's surprise gradually turned into gratitude. He spoke, his voice hesitant, "Thank you for your kindness, Princess."
Ming Shuangchen did not answer, but simply nodded slightly.
Seeing this, Mei Ziqi smiled with satisfaction.
Yuchi Siguang still had a deep frown on his face, looking displeased.
For a moment, everyone fell silent, with only the sound of rain pattering around them.
Just then, a blinding white light suddenly appeared in the bedroom.
Everyone was shocked and confused. Then they heard Yuchi Siguang exclaim in surprise:
"Celestial Fox!"
Chapter Twenty-Eight
"Celestial Fox!"
Upon hearing this, Di Xiu rushed to the bedroom door and pushed it open, only to find the room empty. Panic gripped him as he looked around. The window remained unmoved; the person had vanished into thin air.
Seeing this, Ming Shuangchen frowned and said to Yuchi Siguang, "What trick is it this time?!"
Yuchi Siguang frowned and shook his head.
Seeing his expression, Mei Ziqi frowned and pondered deeply.
At this moment, Di Xiu spoke, his voice trembling, "The Heavenly Fox chooses its master..."
Yu Chi Siguang was startled. He reached out and grabbed Di Xiu's shoulder, shouting sternly, "What did you say?"
Di Xiu looked up at him and said, "Tianhu has chosen Mingyue as its master."
"Impossible!" Yu Chi Siguang shoved him aside and shouted angrily, "Its master is not determined by the animal itself!"
Hearing this, Mei Ziqi pondered for a moment and said, "It seems to be related to the unsealing of the 'Suppressing Pot'... Ah Xiu, what else do you know?"
Di Xiu composed himself before briefly recounting to everyone the events leading up to his wedding, from the time he opened the pot to make a wish, to the sealing of his mind. Ming Shuangchen and Mei Ziqi listened with grave expressions, remaining silent. Yu Chi Siguang, however, was furious, shouting, "You bastard! I thought you killed that beast, yet you left it alive!"
These words shocked not only Di Xiu, but also Ming Shuangchen and Mei Ziqi.
Yuchi Siguang glared at Di Xiu and said, "If anything happens to my daughter, I will make you wish you were dead!"
After saying that, he strode out the door.
Di Xiu was worried and disregarded Yu Chi Si Guang's threat, so he hurriedly followed.
Ming Shuangchen frowned and turned to look at Mei Ziqi. Just as she was about to ask a question, she saw Mei Ziqi with her head down, smiling happily.
“Sir…” Ming Shuangchen raised an eyebrow and said, “Judging from your appearance, Ming Yue should be alright, right?”
Mei Ziqi raised his eyes and gently shook his head. "I dare not say." He paused slightly and said, "However, I finally understand why Master Yuchi is so determined to force his daughter to marry."
Ming Shuangchen was slightly surprised after hearing this, "You mean..."
Mei Ziqi chuckled and sighed, saying, "The eldest daughter of Yuchi Manor is married to the son of the wealthiest merchant in the capital, a man of both high character and good looks. The Chen family, to whom the second daughter is betrothed, is also a family of scholars and virtuous people. I heard that the third daughter is also about to get engaged, and she has chosen a son of an official, a man of first-rate character... If it weren't for the second daughter's ruthless actions, he would never have remarried her to Di Xiu." After saying this, he smiled and looked at Ming Shuangchen, "The manor lord truly has good intentions, which is admirable."
Upon hearing this, Ming Shuangchen remained silent for a moment before speaking, "That's why the Heavenly Fox chose Ming Yue..."
Mei Ziqi took a step and walked to her side, saying, "Judging from what he just said, Princess, don't you understand?... If he could choose a husband for Mingyue, he probably would have done it long ago."
Ming Shuangchen frowned again and said softly, "Why are you always so clear-headed?"
“Those involved are often confused, while bystanders see things clearly.” Mei Ziqi replied with a smile. “I’ve been an observer for over a decade, and I’ve always wanted to be confused for once.” He sighed softly, then turned and walked outside. “The Heavenly Fox is choosing its master, and it must be in the Yuchi family’s ancestral hall. Let’s go take a look.”
Ming Shuangchen nodded and followed slowly.
...
When Yu Chi Mingyue groggily woke up, she found herself in the ancestral hall of the Yu Chi family.
She was horrified when she opened her eyes to find herself sitting on a large, carved sandalwood chair. Her clothes had been changed; the fine white silk clung to her skin, feeling slightly cool. She tried to move, but found her limbs stiff and her body limp, unable to move. Looking down, she saw a bronze square pot on her lap, which she was gently cradling in her hands. She instinctively wanted to scream, but found her throat constricted, and no sound came out.
Just then, a white light suddenly appeared. Within the radiance emerged a snow-white fox with a pair of deep blue eyes staring straight at her, calling out with a smile, "Fourth Miss."
Hearing it speak in human language, Yu Chi Mingyue grew even more terrified.
The fox gently landed on her lap, nuzzled against the bronze pot, and chuckled, "Fourth Miss, there's no need to be afraid. I am a celestial fox kept by the Yuchi family, and I will never harm you in the slightest..."
Unable to make a sound, Yu Chi Mingyue could only glare at it with hatred.
"Hehe, it seems the Fourth Miss doesn't like me. But I like the Fourth Miss very much," the fox said. "I've been imprisoned by the Yuchi family for over a hundred years, and this is the first time I've chosen my own master. I really have to thank that boy surnamed Di..."
Hearing it mention Di Xiu, Yu Chi Mingyue's thoughts became increasingly chaotic. She couldn't help but silently murmur his name, trying to alleviate the fear in her heart…
"Fourth Miss, don't be afraid. I told you, I won't hurt you." The fox gently approached her and said, "I am a celestial fox who has cultivated for a thousand years. If you become my master, I can grant all your wishes..."
Yu Chi Mingyue frowned, trying desperately to break free of her restraints.
Just then, someone rushed into the ancestral hall and called out to her, "Mingyue!"
Yu Chi Mingyue was startled and looked up. When she saw Di Xiu, her fear vanished and a smile appeared on her face.
Di Xiu was overjoyed to see her and leaped forward.
Tianhu, however, looked displeased and glanced back at him.
In that single glance, Di Xiu felt an invisible force transform into a shield, violently repelling him. He staggered, nearly falling.
At that moment, someone reached out and gently supported him from behind, stabilizing his body.
Di Xiu turned around and saw that the person who had helped him was Yuchi Siguang.
"Master of the Manor..." Di Xiu called out subconsciously.
Yuchi Siguang ignored him and walked straight forward, shouting, "You beast! Release my daughter now!"
The fox shook its head and laughed, "Siguang, don't be so fierce. I won't do anything to your daughter."
"Shut up! My daughter, the daughter of the Yuchi family, will never be toyed with by you again. If you know what's good for you, release Mingyue now, or I'll skin you alive!" Yuchi Siguang roared fiercely.
The fox laughed, a hint of contempt in its voice: "If you could kill me, you would have done it long ago. After Linghui's death, you married off your daughters one by one and even plotted to kill me. Unfortunately, you are ultimately just a mortal; how could you possibly do anything to me?" It gently nestled on Yuchi Mingyue's lap and continued, "Besides, what do you mean by 'playing with' your Yuchi family's daughter? Back then, the Yuchi family's ancestors plotted to imprison me and used a virgin as bait to make a 'spiritual blood oath,' forcing me to serve the Yuchi family..." Its voice was laced with contempt, "If not for that, how could Yuchi Manor have achieved its current status?"
Upon hearing this, Yuchi Siguang remained silent.
"What you've done truly chills my heart..." The fox shook its head. "However, this courage is commendable. Heh, it's a pity you're too late. Seeing this brand-new 'pot holder,' don't you understand?"
Yuchi Siguang's gaze fell upon the bronze square pot, and for a moment, a look of grief appeared on his face.
"Hehe, I have already sworn a 'blood oath' with Miss Mingyue, and she is now my new master. Rest assured, I will continue to protect your Yuchi family, generation after generation, so that you may enjoy prosperity forever..." the fox laughed.
Yu Chi Siguang frowned, about to speak, when Di Xiu spoke up, saying, "Let her go!"
Upon hearing this, the fox smiled helplessly, "Steward Di... if I remember correctly, you said you had given up all hope for her and that I could do as I please."
Di Xiu stepped forward and said, "Release her, and I'll do anything you ask..."
"Hahaha," the fox laughed, "How ridiculous! You're just a mortal, what can you do to help me? She's mine now, so you'd better give up. Of course, considering you let me out of the pot, I'll definitely find you another good girl, hehe..."
Di Xiu looked up at Yu Chi Mingyue. Her expression was full of fear, her eyes fixed on him as if pleading for help.
“If it weren’t for a moment of weakness on my part, I would never have harmed you like this…” Di Xiu slowly stepped forward and said in a deep voice, “I opened the ‘Suppressing Pot’ only to sever the foundation of Yuchi Manor… When the Heavenly Fox asked me what I wanted, I found it laughable. What I want, I will obtain with my own hands; why would I need to rely on demonic magic or divine power… However, there is one thing that I cannot obtain no matter how hard I try, even if I exhaust my efforts and risk my life…”
When Yu Chi Mingyue heard him say these words, her heart pounded, and she forgot her fear.
He stopped a short distance in front of her, a helpless smile on his face. "It's always been this far... This far... Every time I thought I was about to give up and despair, I'd see you, and a delusion would spring up again. But I know that a delusion is just a delusion." As he spoke, his eyes welled up with tears. "I no longer expect you to love me. If I can't have your heart, having you in person would be enough... It was with this despicable thought that I made that wish..."
"So when the princess said I lied to you, that I had ulterior motives, I really couldn't refute it..." Di Xiu smiled softly. "You called me cold-blooded, despicable, and unscrupulous... I had no choice but to admit it. I was convinced you would never forgive me, and perhaps I didn't even deserve your hatred... Tianhu told me to choose you as my master, and I really had no other options. Besides hoping the prince and princess would arrange a marriage for you immediately, there was nothing I could do. I never imagined you would come back, would come to stop me from getting married..."
Yu Chi Mingyue looked at him and couldn't help but shed tears.
"The whole 'kidnapping' thing is ridiculous and laughable. But I'm really happy..." His smile was gentle, and his brows were filled with happiness. "It's not because of the Heavenly Fox Curse, and it's not a dream. I can really be with you... I've realized that as long as I have you, I can give up everything else..." As he said this, his tone became cold and firm again. "So, at this moment, no one can take you away from me!"
He looked at the Heavenly Fox and said coldly, "If you release her, I will grant any request. Otherwise, even if it takes my entire life, I will find a way to break the 'Spiritual Blood Oath.' The moment she regains her freedom, I will skin you alive and tear you to pieces!"
His voice echoed in the ancestral hall, eliciting a faint resonance.
Ming Shuangchen and Mei Ziqi heard these words as they entered the ancestral hall. Mei Ziqi smiled, her face full of satisfaction.
The fox paused for a moment, about to speak, when Yu Chi Mingyue's voice rang out:
"Get out of here."
The fox was startled and turned around to see Yu Chi Mingyue trembling slightly, using all her strength to resist the restraints.
“Get out of my way!” Yu Chi Mingyue gritted her teeth and shouted again.
The fox took a few steps back and floated in the air.
At this moment, Yu Chi Mingyue finally broke free of her restraints. She suddenly stood up, raised the bronze square pot in her hand, and smashed it hard on the ground.
With a piercing sound, the square pot shattered, and light spilled out from the cracks, spreading in all directions.
"What Lord of the Heavenly Fox? I don't care!" Yu Chi Mingyue's voice was firm and unwavering.
Before she could finish speaking, Di Xiu stepped forward and pulled her into his arms. The familiar warmth brought tears to Yu Chi Mingyue's eyes as she smiled. She wrapped her arms around his waist, chuckling softly.
The fox looked at the shattered square pot and said, "Fourth Miss, I am a celestial fox who has attained enlightenment for a thousand years. I understand the workings of heaven and earth, can change men and women, and possess boundless magical power. Becoming my master will bring you wealth and glory at your fingertips. Do you really not care about it at all?"
Yu Chi Mingyue turned her head, looked at the fox, and said disdainfully, "I don't care!" She then raised her eyes and looked at Di Xiu, smiling gently, "As long as I have you, I can give up everything..."
Di Xiu looked at her, just smiling, without saying a word.
The fox tilted its head. "You don't care about the Yuchi family's century-old legacy either?"
Upon hearing this, Yu Chi Mingyue frowned and said, "Does that mean the Yu Chi family is utterly useless without the Heavenly Fox? If that's the case, then even in defeat, it's not a pity!"
Upon hearing this, Yuchi Siguang could only smile helplessly.
"Hahaha, just as I expected!" The Heavenly Fox suddenly laughed. At this moment, the pot had completely shattered, and the light within it swirled like smoke, enveloping the Heavenly Fox. The fox slowly transformed into the form of a young man. The young man was beautiful and charming, with red lips and white teeth. Dressed in white, he moved gracefully. Smiling, the young man bowed slightly to Yuchi Mingyue and said, "Thank you, Fourth Miss."
This change left everyone puzzled. Mei Ziqi, however, smiled knowingly and said, "I see. It seems the 'Oath of Spiritual Blood' has been broken."
Upon hearing this, the young man smiled and looked at Mei Ziqi. "Just as you said, there are only two ways to break the 'Oath of Spiritual Blood.' The first is that the Yuchi family bloodline must be extinct, with no descendants. The second is that my master must personally break the contract and set me free... I've waited for hundreds of years, and finally, I've found that person. Hahaha..."
