Actions fantômes - Chapitre 10

Chapitre 10

Early this morning, as usual, I was reading a novel on Q with a headache, while drooling and chatting on QQ with a girl I used to be in high school. In the video, I was wearing a black T-shirt and hiding in the darkness.

Only a pale face remained faintly visible in the video. I smiled as I looked at myself; it was quite atmospheric, haha!

I was engrossed in the novel's climax, and my conversation with the girl was going very well, when suddenly she said she needed to use the restroom. So, I lit a cigarette, propped my arm on the table, and watched the smoke rise and swirl, staring boredly at my reflection in the screen, as if looking in a mirror, waiting…

Suddenly, a white blob appeared in the lower right corner of the screen and flashed quickly to the left before I even noticed it. My scalp tingled. What was that?

I moved the cigarette in my hand to determine if the white light was smoke. Just as I was waving the cigarette around, the light appeared again, still from the lower right, but it flashed upwards quickly, making my scalp tingle and my heart start pounding.

Just as I hesitated about whether to escape to another dormitory, a white streak of light appeared behind me again. This time, I couldn't bear the fear in my heart any longer. I jumped up from my seat, and with trembling hands, I opened the door. Luckily, the students next door were still awake. Seeing how scared I was, they kindly let me stay there for the night.

I assure Chairman Mao that this is my true experience; any resemblance to actual events is purely coincidental.

SECTION 2 Train Advertisement Incident Early morning of January 11, 2006

Those who enjoy horror novels have probably heard of the advertisements for the Kowloon-Canton Railway, but I'll give a brief introduction here anyway!

The sensational 1993 Kowloon-Canton Railway advertisement in Hong Kong! Probably the most widely witnessed ghost story~~ The Kowloon-Canton Railway advertisement ghost incident: The director was watching a rerun of an old film on TV late at night and discovered the following eerie images in the Kowloon-Canton Railway advertisement:

Seven children were playing a train game, shoulder to shoulder, when one more person joined the group at the end...

Not long after, the child whose shoulder had been touched died...

The advertisement was immediately taken off the air, but the media buzzed about it for a long time!

There are two different opinions regarding the extra child. One opinion is that it is a boy wearing black clothes and with a mushroom haircut (I personally tend to believe this opinion, and most people think so), while the other opinion is that it is a little girl with braids.

While I was watching, I clearly felt a sense of oppression. I had seen similar content on horror websites before, but this time I saw the post on Sohu's paranormal forum. The poster claimed that after watching it, they dreamed of extra children that night, and then they were plagued by bad luck until they went to a temple to get a peace charm to avert disaster.

After reading that post, I couldn't help but shudder, suddenly sensing that something was about to happen.

Sure enough, after I got into bed, I closed my eyes with a feeling of unease.

Suddenly, I heard a metallic clanging sound, like train wheels hitting rails, and my hair stood on end.

Then came a long car horn blast, just like a train whistle!

I pressed my back tightly against the wall, wrapped myself tightly in the blanket, and trembled all over like a leaf.

Then came that clanging sound again, followed by the whistle...

They torment me repeatedly!

About an hour later, these strange phenomena disappeared.

I didn't sleep well all night after that. Luckily, I didn't have any nightmares.

I assure Chairman Mao that this article is based on my true experience. Any resemblance to actual events is purely coincidental!

Chapter Five: A Sleepless Night (Part One)

one

“Ah…”

A scream came from the darkness in the distance.

"Is it from the teaching building?" Zhong Lei twisted his neck, which had become numb.

Turning my head, I saw that Yu Kai's mouth was still open uncontrollably, and the owner of the mouth seemed to be frozen in a standing position.

Zhong Lei shook his head, realizing he had been lost in thought. This was the first time in his life he had witnessed such a bloody scene. Even when watching Li Wang, he could control himself, but now he could no longer hold back. His stomach churned, and something unknown surged from his mouth, and he couldn't stop it.

Yu Kai finally snapped out of his daze amidst the painful sounds. Seeing Zhong Lei vomiting, he went over, patted Zhong Lei's back, and comforted him:

"Lei Zi, are you alright?" Zhong Lei shook his head during a break from vomiting, and immediately vomited up more filth. Yu Kai, who was next to him, couldn't resist the temptation either and started vomiting uncontrollably.

Feeling his stomach was empty, Zhong Lei slowly straightened up and looked around. His eyes widened again—there was no one around, as if nothing had happened. The pool of blood in front of him had also vanished.

One hundred meters away at the dormitory entrance, a physical education teacher held a whistle. ("Excuse me! Just a little more of your time—the second part of Phoenix City High School's unique disciplinary system: Rest and Whistles. Every night at 10:10 PM is Phoenix City High School's 'legal' rest time. At this time, a physical education teacher will blow a whistle in front of each dormitory building. When the whistle sounds, everyone must lie down, sleep quietly, and is not allowed to talk, walk around in the dormitory, eat, drink, visit other dormitories, or toss and turn in bed.") "You're not allowed to stay up, you're not allowed to listen to your Walkman, you're not allowed to listen to the radio, you're not allowed to use your cell phone, you're not allowed to use your walkie-talkie... Huff... Huff... Every morning at 5:30, this 'beloved' PE teacher would come back and blow that whistle to urge the students to get up. Within fifteen minutes of the whistle, the students had to assemble at the designated location for morning exercises..." (The author, Xiao Sui, was so exhausted that she felt like she was going to vomit her lungs out and had to be carried away on a stretcher by the doctor from the Phoenix City High School Medical Clinic for emergency treatment.) Continuing from the previous text, this PE teacher was carrying the whistle and there was a possibility that he might bring it to his mouth at any moment.

Zhong Lei and Yu Kai were about to run towards the dormitory building when the PE teacher blew his whistle.

“Oh no, we’re definitely going to be up late! What should we do?” Zhong Lei asked Yu Kai anxiously.

To everyone's surprise, Yu Kai remained unhurried, wiping his mouth with his right hand and placing his left hand on his hip, saying nonchalantly:

"It's okay! We can just not go back!"

"How can that be! The homeroom teacher is going to inspect the dorms!"

"Don't worry! He won't go! He can't go!" After saying that, she gave Zhong Lei a meaningful smile, which made Zhong Lei feel a little uncomfortable.

"What's wrong with you? Why are you so confident? This isn't like you at all!"

Yu Kai shook his head.

"People change, you know!" He patted Zhong Lei on the shoulder. "It's all thanks to your subtle influence! Come on! Follow me!"

She turned and walked towards the teaching building.

Zhong Lei was left standing there, completely bewildered. He hadn't yet processed what was happening and couldn't accept Yu Kai's rapid change of heart.

At this moment, he began to calm down and think carefully: Was what just happened real? Why did the bloodstains on the ground disappear in the blink of an eye? Was Liu Dong really hacked to death in front of him?

Zhong Lei began to doubt his own eyes; he began to question what his eyes were seeing.

"Zhong Lei! What are you thinking about again? Come with me! Otherwise, the teachers on night duty will definitely catch you and deduct points from your class!"

Yu Kai called out from not far away.

Zhong Lei glanced at the dormitory building, now dark, then at Yu Kai. After about ten seconds, he made his decision—

He took off running quickly towards the dormitory building, while Yu Kai shouted angrily behind him, but he resolutely ignored him.

The teacher on duty recorded his name, class, dormitory number, and bed number according to the rules and regulations.

“Zhong Lei, Class 28, Dormitory 222, Bed 8”.

Chapter Five: A Sleepless Night (Part Two)

2

He went up to the second floor, and seeing that there were no teachers checking the night, he sneaked into the next dormitory room. In the darkness, he felt his way to Yu Kai's bedside, and then, feeling around, sensed someone under the covers. He whispered, "..."

"Kai! Was that you?"

The person under the covers was startled and whispered:

"Damn, you scared me to death! Of course it's me, Lei Zi, right? Where did you go? I went to your dorm to share your roast chicken but couldn't find you!"

Yu Kai's voice also rang out softly from the darkness. It was an ordinary sentence, but after Zhong Lei heard it, it felt as if a bucket of cold water had been poured over his head, chilling him to the bone.

"Yu Kai is sleeping here, so who was that just now?!" Thinking of this, Zhong Lei felt a chill run down his spine. Luckily, he had stuck to his judgment earlier; otherwise, if he had gone with "him," it was hard to imagine what the consequences would have been.

"Has Liu Dong returned yet?" Zhong Lei suddenly remembered.

“No, this kid is really something else! He’s hooked on staying up all night, and he’s probably already scaled the school wall. If he’s quick enough, he might already be hailing a taxi, and if he’s even faster, he might already be sitting in front of his computer…” Yu Kai said to himself, unaware that Zhong Lei’s expression had completely changed in the darkness.

“Kai!” Zhong Lei interrupted him, saying, “Can we get in touch with him now?”

Yu Kai shook his head and said:

"No, he can't. The principal confiscated his phone yesterday. He was making a call in the restroom when the principal, who was also in a hurry to use the restroom, caught him red-handed. So he can only accept his bad luck."

“Then…” Zhong Lei was about to ask again when Yu Kai put his index finger to his lips and whispered, “Shh!” “Don’t speak or move. There are checkpoints outside.” Zhong Lei then fell silent in the darkness, as if he had vanished from the scene. This level of skill must be quite advanced.

A moment later, Yu Kai pushed Zhong Lei aside.

"Alright, the inspectors are gone."

"Oh, thank goodness, they didn't knock."

“Yes, today’s inspection was a bit strange. After he came close to the door, he wasn’t looking through the glass. Instead, judging from his position, he seemed to be looking at our membership list. I saw him bend over, and I could only see his hair, so that must be it,” Yu Kai said.

Zhong Lei nodded:

"Hmm, that makes a lot of sense. Although you're talkative and greedy, your logical analysis skills are quite good."

As soon as he finished speaking, the other students in the dormitory who were still awake couldn't help but burst out laughing.

“Lei Zi, you’re being so disrespectful…” Before he could finish speaking, he heard a “creak—”—the sound of the door opening!

“Lei Zi! Your door is open! It must be that inspector. He must have seen that no one is in your bed! What are you going to do? You’re definitely going to get points deducted!” Yu Kai used “definitely” three times in a row, which shows how anxious he was.

Zhong Lei, however, was not in a hurry at all. He sat quietly by Yu Kai's bedside without making a sound.

3

Less than a minute later, voices came from outside the door.

"Okay, here's what we'll do! Have Zhong Lei come to the duty room to see me when he gets back." It was the voice of a middle-aged man.

“Okay, Uncle, take care!” The voice belonged to Wang Chong, Zhong Lei’s roommate.

"Okay, you can go in now!"

Then came the sound of footsteps, sometimes light, sometimes heavy, gradually fading into the distance.
