Kapitel 28

"Awake?" the other person asked.

"Thank you, sir." She smiled, bowed, and then looked up.

They are very close to each other.

Her eyes stared unabashedly at his face.

Chu Zhen felt a tightness in her chest: This rude and presumptuous person...

For some reason, she didn't want to look at him. She turned her head slightly and said, "Now that you're awake, leave."

“Last night…” Le Yan stood still, but spoke again.

Chu Zhen was forced to turn her head and look at him again.

"Was it you who carried me inside last night, sir?" he asked with a smile.

It was an ordinary thing, but Chu Zhen felt her face get a little hot.

Is the word "hug"... a bit too intimate, a bit too harsh?

He desperately wanted to say "no," because the person in front of him had such a hateful smile and such an arrogant look.

But what came out of his mouth was still, "Yes."

How honest he is.

"Thank you very much, sir." Le Yan's smile deepened, and she bowed again, the glimpse of white behind her ear catching his eye.

Chu Zhen bit her lip and said forcefully, "No need for formalities."

Not wanting to get entangled any longer, she took a step forward, intending to brush past him and enter the inner hall.

But then he heard Yueyan's voice beside him say, "Fortunately, I didn't act recklessly last night. You can't imagine how uneasy I was, afraid that I might hurt you again, sir."

For a moment, Chu Zhen had a strange feeling that this kid was saying those words with some regret.

He stopped abruptly and coldly snorted, "Do you really want to hurt me?"

She turned her head slightly to look at him.

Le Yan turned her head, her smiling face making his heart flutter.

"I don't want to," Le Yan smiled, nodded at him, and added, "I don't want to in this lifetime."

His eyebrows were slightly raised, and his eyes were slightly narrowed, exuding a casual yet slightly flippant air.

He turned around and left on his own.

Chu Zhen watched the figure walk unhurriedly, with a graceful gait and light, light steps, as if treading on clouds and water.

His eyes narrowed, and he momentarily forgot what to do until someone whispered beside him, "My lord, my lord, there is something important to report."

Chu Zhencai seemed to wake up from a dream and came to his senses.

Chapter Thirty-Five: Not Killing

"He was the one who carried him in, so why didn't anyone hit him?"

Completely baffled, Tang Leyan reached out and scratched her head, almost knocking her hat off.

Looking at the sky, the sun had only peeked out slightly, the sunlight was weak, and the morning air carried a chilly scent.

He walked along the Vermilion Bird Avenue toward his own residence.

They had only walked a short distance when they heard the strange sound of sword wind cutting through the air.

"Strange, who is it that is exercising so early in the morning instead of sleeping? Could it be another Chu Zhongtang who stayed up all night and practiced swordsmanship in the morning?" Thinking of that person's serious movements, he couldn't help but chuckle softly again.

Suddenly, it dawned on him: something's not right. Judging from the sound, it wasn't as relaxed and methodical as practicing swordsmanship on his own; it was more like fighting an enemy...

And the movement of this sword technique... why does it sound a little familiar?

not good!

In an instant, Tang Leyan understood, and her figure soared into the air like a bolt of lightning, rushing towards the source of the sound.

※※※※※

The sword flashed through the air, piercing towards the person dressed in peacock blue.

He faced his opponent empty-handed, and with a flash, he flew past the lightning-fast sword shadows.

"Do you really want me dead? Why...?"

In the brief moment he dodged, he still had time to ask.

In the morning breeze, the boy's wisps of hair on his forehead trembled slightly: "You know perfectly well what you're asking!"

He pursed his thin lips: "Just because I hurt your master, you've held a grudge until now?"

You deserve to die!

He laughed again: "You're quite loyal to her."

A blue figure moved, like a blue firework blooming in the sky. The person smiled slightly, stretched out his leg and kicked. Xiao Di's heart skipped a beat: This person is actually so bold, daring to use his flesh and blood to crash into his sword? Should he laugh at his recklessness or admire his boldness?

But in that split second, the figure in front of them blurred and the blue-clad man disappeared.

Xiao Di suddenly felt a chill on his neck.

What kind of trick is this? How can someone disappear without anyone noticing?

He was certain this was not a display of light-footed skill.

Tang Leyan's lightness skill was already top-notch, but it was not as ghostly as this person's movements.

It was as elusive as a gazelle hanging its horns, leaving no trace.

Although he didn't know where the opponent was, a swordsman's intuition was always the most reliable. Without thinking, as Xiao Di slowly landed, he swung his sword behind him.

Almost simultaneously, that hateful voice came from beside him: "I might as well tell you, I also think... you deserve to die."

The voice even carried a hint of laughter.

He was telling the truth; he couldn't shake the lingering resentment he felt towards the other person.

Although I admit she's a very beautiful child, but...

Why.

There will be a desire similar to "I must kill".

※※※※※

Xiao Di's sword missed its mark because the angle was wrong.

After speaking, the man leisurely blew a breath gently onto his neck.

A bone-chilling coldness ran through his body, making the swordsman's agile movements cease.

The person behind him muttered calmly, as if talking to himself, "If he were killed on the spot for obstructing official business, no one would say anything, right?"

Chu Gexing never made things difficult for himself.

Since you have this idea, then...

At the same time, both of them had already landed on the ground.

Xiao Di's eyes flashed coldly as he glanced sideways, his expression unchanged: "Kill me if you want."

Chu Gexing was stunned for a moment. His hand, which had turned into a knife, was pressed against Xiao Di's neck but he couldn't bring himself to strike.

But it was precisely because of this momentary hesitation that a figure flew swiftly from the light and shadow of the east like a bird returning to its nest. Before the person arrived, the voice had already come first.

She shouted, "Chu Gexing! How dare you!"

"They arrived just in time."

The man in blue sighed softly, looking at his subordinate: "Xiao Di, your luck is truly enviable."

Xiao Di snorted coldly: "I'm sorry to disappoint you."

He smiled tolerantly and said, "It's alright, there will be plenty of opportunities in the future."

At this moment, Tang Leyan had already descended from the sky. She arrived so quickly that she couldn't stop herself. She took a step forward and called out, "Chu Gexing!"

Chu Gexing glanced at her, and even though it was early morning and her mind was clear enough, her eyes gave off a slightly drunk feeling.

He smiled faintly: "Oh? Calling me so intimately?"

Tang Leyan stomped her foot and clenched her fist: "Let go! If you dare hurt Xiao Di, I..."

"How are you?" he asked, squinting.

Her eyes were sharp, and she sneered, "You'd better not ask that question."

"I'm going to ask anyway."

Chu Gexing raised his eyebrows, a hint of certainty mixed with nonchalance.

"Don't go too far!" Tang Leyan's expression suddenly changed after she uttered those words.

Chu Gexing was just at his leisure when he suddenly felt a surge of sword energy around him.

Fortunately, he reacted quickly and retreated rapidly.

A flash of sword light appeared before me.

"What a ruthless kid." The drunkenness in Chu Gexing's eyes vanished, replaced by a hint of ruthlessness.

He waved his hand behind him and gave a cold snort.

Right where he had just stood, Xiao Di flicked his sword, and a tattered piece of blue robe fluttered to the ground, peacock blue, radiating a dazzling light.

If he hadn't dodged quickly, he would have been injured by his swift sword.

But just as Chu Gexing left, Xiao Di moved forward.

It felt like being shoved in the face.

Tang Leyan leaped forward, tightly grasped Xiao Di's hands, and asked softly, "Don't get angry. Let me see how you are. Are you hurt? Does it hurt anywhere?"

His brows furrowed, and his eyes scanned him up and down as if examining his most prized possession.

Chu Gexing was taken aback by what he saw.

Her concerned expression surprised and astonished him, and at the same time, it stirred a disturbing anger within him.
