PaiPai-Romane - Kapitel 25
"Yes, Your Majesty, did this servant have them present the plaque?"
"Well..." He sighed, resignedly giving in, "Alright."
Soon someone stepped forward, bowed, and held up a tray in his hand, on which several jade tablets lay obediently.
The emperor glanced at it, then stepped out from behind his desk. His eyes were fixed on it, his handsome brows furrowed, one hand behind his back, the other slowly reaching out, but not yet striking, as if he was still hesitating.
Tang Leyan watched coldly, a strange feeling stirring within her.
"Hey, what do you mean by 'flipping the card'?" He stepped back and reached out to bump into someone in the shadows.
The person holding the pen said coldly, "It's simply a matter of choosing whichever one you want to favor."
"Lin...xing?" He hissed, drawing in a cold breath.
"Don't know what 'favoring the emperor' means? It's when the emperor goes to the women in the harem, hmm..."
"You don't need to say anything more about that!"
He raised his eyebrows and pushed the person aside.
The emperor turned his head and looked toward the source of the noise.
Tang Leyan smiled, flashed to the emperor's side, and placed her hand on the jade tablet in the plate.
"Your Majesty!" he said solemnly, "I have something to say!"
Chapter 31 Sending Letters
"What are you trying to do now?" The emperor stopped what he was doing, frowned slightly, and looked at Tang Leyan with amusement.
With one hand behind her waist and the other still in the posture of flipping over a jade tablet, her jade-colored fingers were about to touch one of the jade tablets.
Tang Leyan's eyes flashed and she saw it.
The small hand pressing on the tray quickly rubbed it, and the accompanying eunuch exclaimed in surprise. The sound of jade pendants clashing was heard, as Tang Leyan had messed up all the jade pendants on the tray.
Tang Shaoxuan smiled at him, but then withdrew his hand.
"Your Majesty, I have something to say."
Tang Leyan glanced at the messy tray with satisfaction: Now you can't flip it over, can you?
"Oh, what did you say?" Tang Shaoxuan withdrew his hand, placed it at his waist, and straightened up.
Tang Leyan gave a sinister snort before raising her head and speaking with righteous indignation: "Your Majesty, it has been confirmed that barbarians have invaded the northern frontier, and the war is critical. It is only thanks to the Grand Councilor's dispatch of General Huwei that we were able to intercept them in time. The outcome is still unknown. How can you have such 'abnormal' desires? You are the Emperor, bearing such a heavy responsibility. Naturally, you should be the first to worry about the people's troubles and the last to enjoy their happiness. How many people around Shun are living in dire straits, yet Your Majesty... this is a bit too much."
No sooner had he finished speaking than the accompanying eunuch snapped, "How dare you! How can a mere imperial guard like you presume to speak on the Emperor's affairs?"
"The rise and fall of the nation is the responsibility of every citizen." Tang Leyan patted her chest. "Why can't I speak up?"
"You...you do you know the Emperor..."
"I know he's smitten and can't resist..." she muttered in a low voice.
"What did you say?" The accompanying eunuch's voice changed with anger.
"Ha..." The emperor chuckled softly from the side.
The accompanying eunuch turned to look at the emperor and said with dissatisfaction, "Your Majesty, look at him! What does a mere child know!"
"Knowing he's just a kid, don't take him seriously," the emperor said slowly.
The accompanying eunuch shrugged and fell silent.
Tang Leyan turned to look at Tang Shaoxuan.
The accompanying eunuch whispered, "Your Majesty, this plaque..."
Tang Leyan touched her chin.
"Alright, let's just take it down for now."
With a gentle wave of his hand, the emperor turned around and returned to behind his desk.
The accompanying eunuch sighed, shook his head, and glared fiercely at Tang Leyan.
But then I saw him cover his mouth with his hand and quietly turn back to his place.
"Leyan, come here," the emperor said.
"Yes." Tang Leyan hurried over. "What are Your Majesty's orders?"
A folded document was handed over.
"What is this?" Tang Leyan looked down.
"Send it to the Grand Council," the emperor ordered.
"The Military Affairs Department..." A person suddenly came to mind, and a slightly embarrassed look appeared on his face.
The emperor raised his eyebrows and saw this, and couldn't help but smile again: "What's wrong? Is there something troubling you?"
"No, no," Tang Leyan replied hastily.
Suddenly, she looked up and saw a slight smile on the emperor's lips. She couldn't help but wonder: Could it be... Is it because I didn't let him choose a concubine that he sent me to deliver the message? He knows that the Grand Councilor and I don't get along. Is the emperor doing this on purpose?
Tang Shaoxuan saw the man in front of him with his eyebrows slightly furrowed and couldn't help but laugh.
"Aren't you going yet?" he shouted, deliberately putting on an authoritative expression.
"I'm going, I'm going." He clutched the letter in his hand, bowed hastily, and turned to run.
The emperor smiled as he watched the figure disappear through the doorway.
"Your Majesty..." The accompanying eunuch seemed about to speak.
"No need for further words," the emperor said calmly. "I said I wouldn't overturn it, and that's final. Also, is there any news from the Imperial Workshops?"
"Yes... based on the information from the factory supervisor..."
The voice gradually faded.
The emperor listened intently, his handsome brows slowly furrowing together.

Military Affairs Department.
The Grand Secretary was also frowning, deep in thought.
“No information at all? How is that possible…” Chu Zhen murmured, “All I know is that there are two women and one man with them… there’s absolutely no other information?”
A voice answered from the darkness: "Yes."
"So, what's the situation with Qiu Feihong?"
"We've already sent people to investigate, but it seems the factory supervisors are also working on this."
"So, His Majesty has also taken note?"
"yes."
"Hmm... okay." Chu Zhen pondered for a moment. "His origins are a mystery... Hmph, I don't believe we can't find out anything. Since Qiu Feihong has clues, we must investigate thoroughly. Also, keep an eye on the factory supervisors. They have many informants, and we might discover some unexpected intelligence."
The person in the shadows answered softly.
Just then, the secretary slowly entered the room, bowed, and said, "Your Excellency, someone from the palace has delivered a personal letter from His Majesty."
"Oh? Bring it in." Chu Zhen waved his hand slightly.
"Yes," the secretary replied and slowly withdrew.
A moment later, someone slowly walked in, but kept their head down and didn't look up.
"You're from the palace?" Chu Zhen glanced at him dismissively and asked, "I haven't seen you before, are you new here?"
"Yes, yes, sir," the man replied, his voice somewhat hoarse.
The ninja in the shadows was moved.
Unfortunately, the Grand Secretary has not yet noticed.
"Does His Majesty have a personal letter? Bring it up immediately," Chu Zhen ordered.
"Yes." The person answered in a deep voice again, still maintaining the same bowed posture, and handed over the letter with both hands.
Chu Zhen's eyes flickered unintentionally, and she saw a pair of delicate, flawless white hands under the man's sleeve.
A chill ran through me.
This person... Chu Zhen looked up, but because the other person had his head bowed deeply, he couldn't see his face clearly.
His gaze swept over the neck, which was peeking out from behind the ear and was as white as crystal jade.
Furthermore, that strange sound, that furtive manner...
Chu Zhen, being the person he was, immediately understood the situation.
He deliberately scoffed, "You wait here until I finish reading the letter. Perhaps I will write a reply, and then you can take it back to His Majesty."
"Yes, sir," the man replied gruffly, head bowed.
She stepped back and stood against the wall, keeping a safe distance from him, before raising her head slightly.
Chu Zhen deftly tore open the letter in his hand, his eyes constantly scanning the person standing by the wall, a cold smile playing on his lips: Hmph, Le Yan, huh? You have a way to heaven but choose not to, you barge into hell. If I, Chu Zhen, don't teach you a lesson today, I'll have wasted my empty title of Grand Councilor!
Chapter Thirty-Two: Teasing
Tang Leyan huddled in the corner.
She only hoped that the Grand Councilor would act quickly and write a reply as soon as possible so that she could take it back to the palace to the Emperor.
Mission accomplished, then it's time to make a run for it.
The person leaned against the wall, constantly looking up at the window to see what the sky looked like.
As time passed, the dignified man behind the long desk still did not call out to her, giving her the unsettling feeling that he might be doing it "on purpose."
But they probably won't find out, right? Maybe the Military Affairs Bureau has always been this slow in its work.
However, judging from the half-person-high stack of official documents slowly piling up around the military commander in such a short time, it doesn't seem to be like that.
If she weren't afraid of her identity being exposed, she would almost have shouted: Deal with the emperor first! We must take care of the privileged class!
But now, when you're under someone's roof, you have no choice but to bow your head.
Tang Leyan covered her mouth with her hand, suppressing a yawn that was about to escape her lips, looking mournful.
