Kapitel 20

"Is the snack I brought enough?" You Ran asked.

"The train journey only takes a little over an hour in total," Qu Yun reminded him.

"You're not coming back with me, so I'm bored traveling alone. I can only pass the time by eating," You Ran explained.

"Didn't you always go home alone before?" Qu Yun didn't accept this explanation.

“The situation is different now. I used to be all alone, but now I have a boyfriend, but he won’t spend time with me. It’s a tragedy. That’s why I’m healing my wounds with food.” You Ran silently accused Qu Yun.

“Since you’ve said so, then I’ll go back with you and we can meet your parents together,” Qu Yun said.

"I can't see my parents, or my life will be in danger!" You Ran said anxiously.

If Dad knew that she not only skipped classes and took make-up exams in college, but also seduced a teacher, she would die a more miserable death than tofu dregs.

"So what you mean..." Qu Yun didn't want to guess anymore.

“What I mean is, since it’s not far, why don’t you just come with me on the train to my house and then come back by yourself, okay?” You Ran looked at her boyfriend, her eyes sparkling.

But Qu Yun's words extinguished her spark: "No good."

Although she was used to being hit, You Ran still pretended to be angry to clearly express her stance. So the next day, she didn't let Qu Yun see her off and boarded the train alone.

I was lucky to get a window seat. I put on my headphones, buried my head in my arms, and planned to take a nap.

Amidst the noisy music, I could feel the train slowly starting to move; the slight noise made it easier to fall asleep.

But just then, a hand touched You Ran's thigh.

Blatant sexual harassment?!

Without making a sound, You Ran quietly reached his hand, which was by the window, into his pocket, took out his school badge, and gently pressed it, causing the sharp pin to come out.

To deal with a pervert, you must be as ruthless as a Pakistani suicide bomber.

You Ran silently counted to three, then suddenly launched an attack, stabbing the sharp pin at the groping hand.

But her attack failed—the hand holding the weapon was caught.

You Ran was furious. She was, after all, a prospective member of the Communist Party, and now she was being harassed like this in broad daylight.

So she stood there angrily, wanting to curse this pervert until he was utterly ashamed.

"Touch..." my foot.

This was originally the first line that You Ran had thought of.

But upon seeing the pervert, You Ran changed her lines on the spot: "Touching...good."

The reason is that the person next to her is Qu Yun.

His emotions fluctuated wildly, shifting from fury to elation, and his facial muscles twitched rather abnormally.

"How did you end up here?" You Ran asked.

“Didn’t you say you’d eat a lot if you didn’t have a boyfriend? I thought about it carefully, and if you keep eating like this, I won’t be able to carry you anymore, so I came here.” This was Qu Yun’s reply.

"I love it when you hug me." You Ran hummed softly, but her breath was sweet.

"It's not that I want to hug you, it's that you always automatically jump on me." Qu Yun gave a very blunt reply in a quiet tone.

"Since you're so obedient, I won't hold your lies against you." After saying that, she gently slipped her hand into her boyfriend's arm and rested her head obediently on his shoulder.

"If you could always be this well-behaved, that would be wonderful," Qu Yun said.

"If you would always care about me this much, that would be wonderful," she retorted leisurely.

“It seems,” Qu Yun smiled, “that neither of us is very satisfied with the other.”

"What do you mean? Qu Yun, I'm warning you, don't even think about having any ulterior motives, or else I..." You Ran didn't finish her sentence.

The train entered the tunnel, and there was a rumbling sound outside. It felt like my eardrums were being pressed down by the airflow.

A minute later, the train emerged from the tunnel, and in that instant, it was as if the sun had risen again.

I gazed leisurely out the window, where countless green foliage flowed across the car window, bathed in sunlight.

Qu Yun suddenly picked up the previous topic: "If I have ulterior motives, what will you do?"

“I can’t do anything,” You Ran said.

"Doing nothing? That doesn't seem like Li Youran," Qu Yun said.

“No, it really means I won’t do anything,” a leisurely voice drifted from Qu Yun’s arms: “If you do something that hurts me, I will do nothing, I will stop liking you, stop caring about you, stop thinking about you, and stop looking at you.”

"Is that so?" Qu Yun replied.

"Yes." You Ran rubbed her ear against Qu Yun's shoulder; his shirt had a fresh scent. "However, I'm afraid you'll really like my lack of clinginess later."

"Why are you so insecure about yourself?" Qu Yun laughed, his laughter causing a tremor in his shoulders.

"Thanks to you," You Ran accused. "If you had cared about me even a little bit more, I wouldn't be so insecure."

“Am I that evil? Or are you overthinking it?” Qu Yun said.

You Ran immediately propped her head up and said, "Alright, if you care about me as much as you think, then come home with me to meet my parents."

"Are you really going to do this?" Qu Yun asked.

"Yes." You Ran nodded.

"Do you really want me to do this?" Qu Yun asked again.

"Yes." You Ran nodded again.

"Alright." Qu Yun smiled slightly. "I'll go see your parents now."

The express train quickly took the two to You Ran's hideout. After getting off the train, Qu Yun picked up You Ran's luggage and said, "Alright, let's go."

“Okay…come to my place.” You Ran smiled easily, but her heart was still unsettled.

She was just saying that to test Qu Yun's sincerity, but now she's in a difficult situation.

But at the very least, her cola chicken wings project is ruined.

But what if Qu Yun is certain that she's just talking? Stopping now would seem like giving up halfway.

"Let's go get something to eat first, I'm hungry." You Ran pulled Qu Yun to a fast food restaurant next to the train station, ordered a set meal, and slowly began to eat.

Halfway through the meal, she leisurely looked up and asked Qu Yun across from her, "You... really dare?"

Qu Yun picked up a tissue and wiped the ketchup from his girlfriend's mouth. A meaningful sentence escaped from his slightly upturned lips: "What, you're scared now?"

"Of course, I dare." You Ran didn't enjoy Qu Yun's service; instead, she stuck out her pink tongue and licked away the sweet and sour tomato sauce.

Neither of them explained, but they both understood what the other meant.

After finishing their meal, they hailed a taxi, and the two of them got in and headed straight for You Ran's house.

The closer I get to home, the more familiar the scenery becomes, and my heart, though at ease, keeps moving up and down without a moment's rest.

Halfway through the drive, the same conversation began again.

"You...do you really dare?"

"What, you're scared now?"

"Of course, I dare."

The ambiguous conversation sent chills down the driver's spine, who feared he might encounter a pair of murderers and car thieves. So he sped up, ran three red lights, and got them home in half the usual time.

Standing at the entrance of his residential compound, he leisurely looked up at his window, swallowed hard, and asked for the third time, "You... really dare?"

Qu Yun's answer remained unchanged: "What, you're scared now?"

This time, You Ran really didn't dare to: "I believe in your sincerity. Okay, take care. See you again in a week, green hills and clear waters."

After saying that, she grabbed the luggage and was about to run away, but Qu Yun stopped her: "Now, it's my turn to doubt your sincerity."

"You... really want to go up?" You Ran's heart started pounding.

"It seems you're unwilling?" Qu Yun deciphered You Ran's expression.

"Of course...no." You Ran said, though her words didn't reflect her true feelings.

"Let's go then." Qu Yun picked up her luggage and was about to step into the residential area.

You Ran knew she could never win against Qu Yun, so she conceded defeat: "If you go up now, my kitchen knife will draw blood, of course, it will be the two of us... I was wrong, please go back first."

"So, will you still be thinking about how to test me from time to time?" Qu Yun asked.

"I wouldn't dare, I wouldn't dare. I believe you are truly devoted to me, with a heart full of love." You Ran quickly relented.

"Alright then." Qu Yun put down You Ran's luggage, whispered a few words of advice, and turned to leave.

"Wait." You Ran ran to the bushes next to her, crouched down, and beckoned to Qu Yun: "Come here."

"Are there other options?" Qu Yun simply hypnotized himself to ignore You Ran's childish behavior.

Despite saying that, she still came to You Ran's side.

You Ran stood on tiptoe, reached out and wrapped her arms around Qu Yun's neck, pouting slightly: "No matter what, we'll be apart for a few days. How can you leave without leaving anything behind?"

A gentle breeze stirred, causing the green leaves to sway lightly, and the sunlight seemed to come alive, shimmering in Qu Yun's eyes.

Even though Qu Yun's eyes were like deep pools, You Ran could see that, at least for that moment, the surface water was warm.

"I'd rather obey than be overly respectful," You Ran heard him say.

Next, Qu Yun grasped You Ran's slender waist with his right hand, leaned forward, and she bent backward, thus forming a very romantic and classic pose.

Naturally, he kissed her, a calm and meaningful kiss.

It wasn't the kind of loud, forceful sucking that resembled a fight over saliva, nor the frantic biting like a starving ghost being reborn; it was just a quiet kiss, but the strength and comfort were just right.

Content and at ease.

Only when the wind stopped did Qu Yun straighten You Ran's waist from being parallel to the ground to being perpendicular to the ground.

I felt dizzy and lightheaded – overwhelmed by joy.

"Now, will this keep you entertained for a few days?" Qu Yun asked.

Coming to her senses, You Ran's mind started racing with thoughts: "What if I say it's not enough?"

Qu Yun grasped her waist again, a gesture that filled You Ran with excitement and secret joy. She watched Qu Yun slowly approach her, inhaling his increasingly close scent, looking into his eyes that were sometimes clear and sometimes blurry, and listening to his refined voice: "Then... I'll just fill a test tube with more saliva and give it to you."

At that moment, You Ran finally understood how utterly detestable the man she had run into was.
