Kapitel 28

Wen Yuhan pressed her thumb against the pen, preventing her thoughts from being easily disturbed.

He continued like this until dawn, finally finishing revising all the manuscripts.

The sound of Pei Shaocheng showering came from the bathroom. He quietly lit a cigarette, got up, and walked to the balcony, still holding the Montblanc pen in his hand.

On winter mornings, dawn breaks late, and the sky is still a deep, dark blue.

The icicles hanging from the eaves above began to melt, and a drop of water "plop" landed on Wen Yuhan's face.

He lit a cigarette and gazed at the distant mountains, watching a wisp of gold spread out from them.

The clouds aren't thick today, it should be a sunny day...

Wen Yuhan smiled, biting the cigarette holder, and with her red, swollen, and trembling hands, pushed off the cap of the fountain pen and gently touched the metal nib to the balcony railing.

Then, apply force and press...

The pain in her wrist intensified, but Wen Yuhan didn't even flinch.

He watched intently as the pen nib bent little by little in his hand until it was completely destroyed.

The first ray of sunlight shone on the row of exquisite English lettering, stinging Wen Yuhan's eyes. He squinted slightly and slowly reached his hand out over the railing.

"No, Wen Yuhan!" A low, startled cry suddenly came from behind.

Wen Yuhan turned around amidst the golden sunrise, a slight smile playing on her lips.

The hand holding the pen loosened its grip at the same time, and the pen quickly fell from the rooftop.

It landed silently.

"Ah...it wasn't intentional," Wen Yuhan said indifferently. "You startled me."

Before he could finish speaking, he was turned around and slammed against the floor-to-ceiling window behind him.

His body slammed into the glass with a dull thud.

Pei Shaocheng's hair was still dripping water, sliding down to his burning chest, and white steam was rising from his body, which had just finished showering.

He hadn't had time to shave, and with his bluish eye bags and bloodshot eyes, he looked remarkably like the extreme and ruthless killer in the story.

"Why..." Pei Shaocheng glared at Wen Yuhan, his voice hoarse as he asked, "Do you really look down on what I gave you?!"

In an instant, the way Wen Yuhan carefully cherished the pen when he first received it, and the arrogant way he used it to beautifully slash Yu Wanli's wrist, all blended together with the disdain and numbness on his face now.

Pei Shaocheng felt his heart, along with the broken pen, fall at that moment.

It had already hit rock bottom; any further down was an abyss.

Wen Yuhan was held down tightly by him, and raised her trembling right hand in front of Pei Shaocheng's eyes, saying slowly:

“You are my whole world… Mr. Pei, is this how you treat your whole world? Stop joking.”

Pei Shaocheng raised his hand with red eyes, veins bulging on his forehead.

Just as Wen Yuhan thought the slap was about to land hard on her face, she suddenly heard the sound of glass shattering beside her.

Pei Shaocheng slammed his hand against the French window behind him. Instantly, countless shards of glass, along with bright red blood, splattered onto the winter morning, reflecting a dazzling light in the sunlight.

Yi Li was awakened by the commotion. Upon seeing this scene, she hurriedly ran over barefoot, frantically grabbing Pei Shaocheng's hand to check his injuries, tears welling up in her eyes.

Pei Shaocheng remained silent throughout, staring intently at Wen Yuhan's pale face, his shoulders rising and falling with his heavy breathing.

"Is that enough, Wen Yuhan?" Pei Shaocheng asked in a deep voice, enunciating each word clearly.

Wen Yuhan frowned, suppressing the turmoil in her heart, and took a deep breath, saying, "Are you doing this because you're really angry, or are you trying to take this opportunity to make amends for injuring my wrist and put your mind at ease? If it's the latter, it's a bit too much. You still have filming to do, and I can't afford to make up for the delays."

"Stop talking!" Yi Li turned and shouted angrily at Wen Yuhan, "He's bleeding!"

"There's a first-aid kit in the house, or you can contact his private doctor at 1803 directly."

After speaking, Wen Yuhan turned and left the balcony, departing the room without looking back...

Film crews have never kept any secrets, and of course, there's probably no truth to them either; most of it is just gossip that gets more and more bizarre as it's passed down by word of mouth.

For example, Pei Shaocheng's hand injury.

Some say he got drunk and started a fight, while others say they saw him call a female actress from the film crew into a room, and he was injured when he came out.

Another theory is that Pei Shaocheng didn't like women, so he invited Yi Li and Wen Yuhan to engage in multi-person sexual activity, and that they got injured because they were having too much fun.

Of course, these were just idle gossips among a few insignificant people; after all, no one dared to actually spread them, much less offend Pei Shaocheng.

Everyone still wants to make a living in this industry.

The final version of the script was finally approved after the meeting. Feng Yuan was efficient this time, settling the payment for this batch of goods for Wen Yuhan without hesitation. The remaining work was just trivial tasks like modifying scenes and details as needed based on the specific changes on set. Xiao Yang was more than capable of handling that.

In the morning, the film crew arrived at the film studio as scheduled. Wen Yuhan didn't need to stay on set all day; after attending the opening ceremony, she returned to her hotel to rest.

During that time, he spent two hours doing one thing: adding an arm injury to the character played by Pei Shaocheng, so that it wouldn't affect the actual filming.

Looking at the newly handed-over script, a hint of mockery flashed in Pei Shaocheng's eyes in the lounge.

He sat on the sofa with his legs crossed, lit a cigarette and slowly smoked it, then hummed at Xiao Yang, who had brought the script: "Teacher Wen is so considerate."

Xiao Yang had no intention of responding to Pei Shaocheng's words at the moment. She pursed her lips, closed the door without saying a word, and left, walking all the way out of the lounge.

Just as I was about to find a place to rest, I saw a black Porsche make a sharp turn and pull over to the side of the road.

All the staff on set were immediately drawn to the sight of this big star, wondering where this high-profile celebrity had come from, driving his car right onto the set.

The car door opened, and a tall figure in a camel-colored trench coat stepped out. He walked straight through the crowd and the ubiquitous equipment without glancing to either side, his face cold, and strode towards the lounge where Pei Shaocheng was.

Someone recognized the newcomer and exclaimed in a low voice, "Holy crap, isn't that Lu Yanheng?!"

"The eldest son of the Lu family?!"

"I'm so sure!"

When Xiao Yang saw Lu Yanheng, she composed herself and went to greet him.

"Mr. Lu, you've arrived."

Lu Yanheng patted Xiao Yang's shoulder, narrowed his eyes at the door of the lounge in front of him, and then pushed the door open and went in.

Pei Shaocheng was reciting his poem when someone barged in without warning, causing him to frown slightly. Upon looking up and recognizing the newcomer, his gaze instantly tightened.

He stood up, walked slowly to Lu Yanheng, and silently looked down at him.

Lu Yanheng did not back down in the face of Pei Shaocheng's provocative gaze.

The two stood facing each other, like two ferocious beasts trying to overwhelm each other with their imposing auras before seizing territory.

Lu Yanheng glanced around casually and found that there was no one else there except Pei Shaocheng.

He looked away, took off his glasses and put them in his trench coat pocket, then turned and closed the door tightly.

The next second, Shengfeng's fist struck Pei Shaocheng hard in the abdomen.

...

A note from the author:

Thank you for your support, my lovely readers!!

This story is a mix of cheesy, melodramatic, and slightly artsy (?). But don't worry, I'll provide plenty of sweet moments later on after the two reconcile to heal everyone! After all, our Teacher Wen is incredibly talented, so Pei Gou is truly blessed.

Chapter 39

Lu Yanheng's punch was delivered with full force, and Pei Shaocheng groaned, feeling a churning in his stomach.

He bent down and gritted his teeth, a surge of murderous intent rising on his previously cold and composed face.

Lu Yanheng reached out to grab Pei Shaocheng by the collar, but Pei Shaocheng dodged to the side, circled behind him, and struck Lu Yanheng hard in the back with his elbow, while simultaneously kicking him in the back of the knee.

Lu Yanheng's knees buckled, and he almost knelt down. He quickly used his hands to support himself on the chair next to him.

Pei Shaocheng seized the initiative, reaching behind Lu Yanheng and pressing down on his neck to subdue him. The light in Lu Yanheng's eyes suddenly dimmed, and he turned his head to dodge Pei Shaocheng's hand, quickly grabbing a chair and smashing it at Pei Shaocheng.

Pei Shaocheng had anticipated Lu Yanheng's movements, precisely grabbed the chair, and exerted force towards Lu Yanheng. Taking advantage of Lu Yanheng's resistance, he suddenly let go, and the resistance decreased. Lu Yanheng's body lurched forward, and Pei Shaocheng punched Lu Yanheng in the cheek.

In an instant, the stench of blood filled Lu Yanheng's mouth. He raised his hand to wipe his cut lip, but still gripped the chair tightly and swung it at Pei Shaocheng.

The two tall men, like two fighting lions, were using the most primal methods to deal with the threat in front of them, their eyes red.

From beginning to end, apart from the dull thuds of fists and feet hitting flesh and the occasional sounds of damaged items and furniture colliding and breaking, no one uttered a word.

Without the pretense in front of others, without the negotiations and consultations that represent civilization, all that remains is who is stronger and weaker, who is superior and who is inferior.

In the end, Lu Yanheng, who was used to the deceit and navigating the business world, was no match for Pei Shaocheng, who trained physically every day. Pei grabbed Lu Yanheng by the tie, pulled it back, and pinned him against the wall.

Lu Yanheng's once perfectly combed hair was now disheveled, but his gaze toward Pei Shaocheng remained sharp and unwavering.

Although Pei Shaocheng had defeated Lu Yanheng, he didn't look much better than his opponent at the moment. His shirt collar was wide open, revealing his muscular chest, and blood was seeping from the wound on his hand again, soaking through the white bandage.

People outside had already heard the commotion in the lounge, but none of them dared to come in and check what was happening.

After all, neither of the two people inside were people they could afford to offend.

"Cheng-Brother Cheng?" Pei Shaocheng's assistant, Emily, mustered all her courage and knocked on the door, her teeth chattering. "Do you...do you need me..."

"No need." Pei Shaocheng's short, deep voice came from inside the room, and everyone shuddered again.

Pei Shaocheng stared coldly at Lu Yanheng, his hand, which was dripping blood, clenched into a fist.

Lu Yanheng showed no fear, raising his chin and giving a disdainful smile: "Pei Shaocheng, he's only been on set for a few days, look what you've done to him."

Even the usually elegant Lu Yanheng couldn't help but swear. After learning from Xiao Yang about Wen Yuhan's experiences after joining the crew, he immediately put down all his work and rushed over from Yancheng overnight with his private doctor.

Anger surged into his brain, and he could no longer maintain his usual composure. Although he did not know exactly what had happened between Pei Shaocheng and Wen Yuhan, he would not allow Wen Yuhan to be hurt. Even though, to some extent, he actually understood Pei Shaocheng's hopeless feeling of wanting but not getting what he wanted.

"Mr. Pei, you really have class by finding all sorts of ways to torment someone you can't have."

"none of your business."

Lu Yanheng had come today to avenge Wen Yuhan, and didn't want to waste words with Pei Shaocheng. He immediately stated bluntly, "I'm taking Xiaohan back."

Upon hearing this, Pei Shaocheng only uttered two words: "Don't even think about it."

Lu Yanheng seemed to have anticipated Pei Shaocheng's reaction, and nodded, saying, "Then let's give it a try."

He passed over Pei Shaocheng's shoulder and looked at the clock on the wall behind him: "In an hour, the fire department will be coming to conduct a surprise inspection of the entire film studio. All film crews will have to stop filming. Unfortunately, the locations used by your crew are all key targets for inspection. The specific time to resume work... will be determined by Mr. Pei himself."

Pei Shaocheng narrowed his eyes: "You dare threaten me?"
