Kapitel 32

"Let's go then!"

Gaoshan Village is a small village with only a dozen or so households, totaling about fifty or sixty people.

The village is surrounded by mountains on all sides, and is built on the mountainside of the highest mountain, so it is called Gaoshan Village (High Mountain Village).

Its superior geographical location keeps it isolated from the world, like a paradise, free from external strife.

The village is nestled on a cliff halfway up the mountain, offering a panoramic view of the entire valley.

To get to the towns outside Gaoshan Village, one has to cross several mountains and it takes several days.

However, the mountains are full of wild animals and fruits, and the woman also planted wheat near the village.

They were completely self-sufficient; the men in the family would go into the mountains to hunt wild game, living off the land and enjoying a comfortable life.

But what happened? Recently, more than a dozen hunters from the village went into the mountains together, but unexpectedly, only one of them returned the next day.

That person was Wang Yong. Severely injured, he returned to the village, uttered only the words "Run!", and then immediately collapsed.

He didn't wake up until the next day, and sighed when he saw that he was still in the village.

Then everyone in the village came to Wang Yong's house.

"Wang Yong! Why did you come back alone? Where is my husband?" an older woman cried.

This question immediately caused most of the people in the room to burst into tears, and they all started asking Wang Yong questions.

"Stop crying, everyone. Calm down. Yongzi, tell me what happened." The village chief slammed his cane heavily on the ground.

"Cough cough! They're all dead, all of us who went there are dead."

"Did it let me come back on purpose, or did it come back by itself?"

"I told you to run, why didn't you leave? Now we're all going to die! Waaah!" Wang Yong, a grown man, burst into tears.

Immediately, the scene descended into chaos again, with cries and curses rising and falling.

"Quiet, quiet, Yongzi, explain yourself clearly, every single word!" the village chief roared.

Wang Yong then recounted the course of events and their outcome.

It turned out that Wang Yong and his group of more than a dozen people went into the mountains to hunt wild game, and they had good luck that morning.

They hunted a wild boar, six pheasants, and a dozen rabbits, and by noon they were planning to head straight back to the village.

Unexpectedly, on the way back, they encountered a tiger, which suddenly charged out.

They carried away Wang Zhong's eldest son, Wang Wei, and by the time everyone caught up, only half of his body remained.

This enraged Wang Zhong, who was determined to kill the tiger to avenge his family.

At that moment, everyone set up their prey and focused all their efforts on hunting the tiger.

After tracking for several hours, the tiger's whereabouts were discovered.

Then, a dozen people worked together to hunt down and kill the tiger. Afterwards, Wang Zhong skinned and roasted the tiger to eat.

After finishing the tiger's meat, Wang Zhong calmed his grief and prepared to lead everyone home.

After all, his own son had died, and he had no mind to do anything else.

Before they had gone far, a tiger's roar came from behind them.

They saw a tiger several times larger than the one they had killed, probably six or seven meters long.

Wang Zhong knew at a glance that it was a tiger that had become a spirit.

The tiger pounced and killed a burly man with a single swipe of its paw.

In no time, he slapped everyone to the ground, killing seven strong men instantly.

Then, watching the crowd groaning on the ground, they began to speak in human language:

"How dare you eat my child!"

"Spare me! Tiger King, spare me!" Despite his injuries, a Chinese man stood up and pleaded.

"Hmph! Spare my life, where did you come from?" The tiger spirit wasn't in a hurry to kill anyone; it had plenty of children, so losing one was nothing.

"Don't say it. If we do, not only will we die, but our families will die too." Wang Zhong remained rational.

"Hmph! Just because you don't tell me doesn't mean I can't find it!" the tiger spirit said disdainfully.

"Tiger King, I'll tell you, we came from that mountain! I've told you, please let me go!"

Upon hearing this, the tiger spirit leaped over and bit the man, killing him instantly with a snap.

The tiger demon devoured everyone one by one, leaving only Wang Yong alive.

"You go back and send one person over to me every day."

"Otherwise, I'll kill everyone in your village."

"As long as you're still on this mountain, you can't escape." Tiger King said, then turned and left.

"Ah! There's a monster! What should we do? What should we do?"

"Village chief, my husband died a terrible death!"

"My son and my husband died even more tragically! Waaah!"

"Stop making noise, be quiet. We need to think of a way out now. There's no escaping this now," the village chief said, lifting his cane.

"Let me go! I deserved to die yesterday anyway."

"Pack your things and run! Otherwise, our entire village will be wiped out sooner or later," Wang Yong stepped forward.

"Dayong! Now that you're gone, what am I supposed to do?" Dayong's mother cried and sobbed by his bedside.

"I can't hold on like this for much longer, and besides, I still have my younger brother here, cough cough!" Wang Yong coughed up a mouthful of blood.

The scene immediately fell silent, and no one else said anything.

"Dayong! Don't worry, we will take care of your mother and younger brother," the village chief said after a while.

"Lin Xing, tell me about the tiger demon!" Lin Qing transmitted his voice to the gorilla Lin Xing.

"Your Majesty, this tiger demon only arrived in the last few years."

“I never saw any food when I went to the mountains before, but I found some a few years ago.”

"I almost got eaten by it!! It was quite powerful, over six hundred years old." Lin Xing still felt lingering fear when he thought about it.

"What are you afraid of? I'll avenge you this time." Lin Qing imagined himself patting his chest and transmitted his voice to Lin Xing.

"Thank you, Dragon King!" Lin Xing was slightly moved.

For ordinary people, it would take at least several days to reach a mountain village, but for people like Lin Qing and the gorilla, it only takes a few hours.

Completely ignoring the terrain, we went straight there and arrived at the foot of the mountain by noon.

"Your Majesty, I know the tiger demon is nearby, but I don't know exactly where." Lin Xing scratched his head.

"Are there any villages around here?" Lin Qing asked.

"I know there's a village halfway up the mountain called Gaoshan Village. Dragon King, do you want it?" Lin Xing asked cautiously.

"Let's go ask the humans! They've lived here for so long, they must know. Besides, I don't eat people," Lin Qing explained.

"Yes, yes, yes! The Dragon King is indeed wise and powerful, hehe!" Lin Xing's face immediately lit up with a smile.

"Tiger King, that's great, I'll be called Tiger King from now on." Tiger King lay prostrate in a huge cave.

"Roar! Roar! Roar!" The four tigers below were roaring.

"Let's go! I'll take you to eat some delicious food and avenge your fifth brother!" Tiger King decided it was better to just eat right away.

I enjoyed the delicious food yesterday and have been savoring it ever since I got back. Sending just one person a day would definitely not be enough.

Now he's ready to have a big meal with his children.

"Roar! Roar! Roar!" Several tigers, which weren't even spirits, roared excitedly.

"You don't need to see me off, you should run! Cough cough!" Wang Yong stood at the village entrance, leaning on his cane.

"Haha! You think you can run away? Today you'll all be my food!" The Tiger King jumped out of the woods.

Following closely behind, four tigers also jumped out, and then, at the Tiger King's command, surrounded them.

"Ah! Monster, monster."

"The tiger spoke! The tiger spoke!"

"Waaaaah! What do we do? Are we really going to be eaten?"

"Tiger King, didn't we agree to deliver one person a day? You can eat me, but spare the others, cough cough!"

“My son is dead. You skinned him alive and ate his flesh. Today I will take my revenge. They will all die.”

"Roar!" Several tigers nearby roared excitedly.

"Please, King Tiger, spare us!"

"Please, we beg you, we're kneeling before you!"

As he spoke, most of the people knelt down.

"Don't worry, I'll make sure you don't die so easily!" King Tiger laughed heartily!

"Hmph! At worst, I'll die. What's there to be afraid of? My son and husband have been eaten by him. I'll fight these beasts to the death!" an old woman roared.

"Yes, I'll risk it all. My man is dead anyway, and I don't want to live anymore."

Those whose families had died roared in fury, ready to fight the Tiger King to the death.

"You lot think you can fight to the death? Haha! It's an honor for you to let me eat you."

"Then I'll start with the little ones, delicious!" King Tiger said without a care.

"Tiger King, what a magnificent sight!" A voice echoed in the minds of everyone present.

"Who is it? Are you looking for death?" Tiger King looked around.
