Heiraten - Kapitel 15
"Asthma!" Nineteen suddenly realized. "Yun Tan has asthma!!!"
Without saying a word, he immediately reached into Yun Tan's arms and carefully pulled out a porcelain bottle: "Tian Shu gave this to you, is this it? Is this medicine?"
"Hmm, these little hands feel so nice to touch," the sick person thought to themselves, their face still showing obvious pain.
Shen Yuntan's lips seemed to be turning blue, and he spoke weakly. He had just slowly nodded when his eyes rolled back and he fainted. There was only one green pill in the bottle, and Tang Shijiu immediately stuffed it into Yuntan's mouth. Yuntan kept his eyes tightly closed, and with the pill in his mouth, he couldn't swallow any water.
"I've heard that asthma can be fatal!" Seeing Shen Yuntan's breathing gradually weaken, Nineteen gritted her teeth, closed her eyes, lowered her head and pressed her lips to his, passing water over to him.
Tianxiu waved his fan and tsk tsk tsk, this kid has managed to get quite a bit of luck with women by pretending to be stupid.
The pill slid down his throat with the water, and the soft, fragrant lips pressed against him, making him even less willing to open his eyes. Nineteen raised his head and, seeing that Shen Yuntan was still unconscious, panicked and at a loss for words: "Did the water not wash the medicine down? Should I feed him another sip?" As he spoke, he took another sip of water and was about to lean over.
Tianxiu couldn't bear to watch any longer, so she grabbed him, took out a silver needle from her bosom, and smiled very gently: "There's no cure after taking medicine. If he still can't get better, I just need to gently prick him with a needle..."
Before he could finish speaking, Shen Yuntan began to moan softly and slightly opened his eyes.
Nineteen was overjoyed: "He's awake! He's awake!"
Tianxiu smiled slightly and withdrew the silver needles: "Once the silver needles are used, there's no disease that can't be cured."
The patient, who had been dying and unable to speak just moments before, now seemed to be speaking more coherently, and even had the strength to hold onto Nineteen's hand tightly: "It's so good to see you again as soon as I open my eyes, just like on our wedding night."
Upon hearing him speak, Nineteen burst into tears of joy: "Yun Tan, I was really afraid that if you fainted like this, you would never wake up again!" Shen Yun Tan's face was still pale, and he seemed to be breathing more out than in: "There's a seat next to the coachman... Tian Xiu..." Before he could finish speaking, Tian Xiu had already said quite sensibly: "Alright, I'll get out. You, a patient who doesn't know martial arts, should rest well and not tire out our beauty!"
Shen Yuntan's lips twitched, and he gave a grateful smile: "Tianxiu, thank you."
Nineteen hurriedly made room for him to sleep more comfortably, but the carriage was too cramped for a large man to lie down comfortably. Nineteen said, "Why don't I go out too? You can lie down more comfortably by yourself."
He quickly grabbed her hand: "I feel more at ease when you sit here. You're my bodyguard; I'm scared when you're not here." He rested his head on her lap without thinking. "This makes me feel much better." He calmly closed his eyes, inhaling her unique fragrance. "Nineteen, I won't die before you."
After a long, swaying journey, Shen Yuntan lay on his lap and drifted off to sleep. Nineteen stirred slightly, his body already somewhat numb, and reached back to lift the carriage curtain.
Uncle Bai followed behind, very obediently. Tianxiu held a round fan, leaning against the car door, her eyes half-closed. The fan was embroidered with a green-feathered, golden-feathered peacock, gaudy and very much in Tianxiu's style.
Both sides are desolate wilderness, with only a few dilapidated houses that have been uninhabited for many years.
Afraid of waking the "patient" on her lap, Shijiu lowered her voice and asked the driver, "Is this all the way here so desolate?"
The coachman patted the horse's rump and said, "This used to be the territory of Guiyan Manor. It was quite lively a few years ago. About twenty years ago, the manor's lord was killed by the Sangmen, and the family fell into decline. The families of noble families are not as harmonious as those of us commoners. One family fights for division, another fights for inheritance, and slowly the manor was emptied out. It is said that Guiyan Manor had offended many people in the past, and many people came to seek revenge. Gradually, the family dispersed and the former territory was almost completely encroached upon by other forces. There's no money to be made here, and nobody cares about it anymore, so it ended up like this."
Nineteen laughed and said, "Uncle, you know a lot."
The coachman said smugly, "My father used to work for Guiyan Manor. He not only managed more than twenty servants, but he also got to meet the young master of Guiyan Manor!" He raised his whip high and slapped the horse's rump. "It is said that the young master was only three years old and as delicate as a little girl. Unfortunately, he later died under a hail of knives, and his body was not even complete."
Tang Shijiu sighed and said bitterly, "The Sangmen are truly despicable; they don't even spare a child."
Tianxiu, who was dozing with his eyes closed, slowly continued, "In the conflicts of the martial world, it's either you die or I live. Since Sang Bipeng, the leader of the Sang Clan, killed Yan Guinan, the leader of Guiyan Manor, he certainly couldn't leave any future troubles and had to eliminate them completely. This is only natural."
He addressed the former sect leader by his given name quite directly, which puzzled Nineteen: "Aren't you...?"
Before she could finish speaking, he interrupted her bluntly, "Yes, but there's nothing about him that I admire, so I don't really want to acknowledge him." His amorous peach blossom eyes darted around and landed on Nineteen, "My beauty, the world is a dangerous place for you. Why don't you come back to my manor with me and live a life of luxury?"
He said this was a phrase often used by bullies in plays, half-jokingly, not entirely without hope.
Chapter Ten: Covert Struggle
With a shout from the driver, wisps of smoke began to rise from chimneys in the distance.
Tianxiu said that ambiguous thing, waiting to see her reaction.
Nineteen, ignoring him, exclaimed happily, "There's a village ahead! We'll have a place to stay tonight!"
Tianxiu had never been ignored like this before, especially by a woman. She could only touch her nose, stick out her tongue, and make a face at Shen Yuntan, who was still pretending to be asleep and taking advantage of her. A gentle breeze blew by, and the long robe with the large peony design fluttered gently, its bright red color quite beautiful.
The journey to the village was arduous, and by the time we arrived, it was already evening. The once menacing sun had shrunk to a round, gentle pancake, making us feel hungry.
Tianxiu jumped out of the car with a flick of her fan, her loose black hair falling over her shoulders, so smooth it made one want to touch it. Nineteen carefully helped the "patient," and Yun Tan smiled apologetically: "Nineteen, I'm sorry, I've troubled you."
Nineteen said in a low voice, "As expected, you can't be flattered. I just said you weren't a good-for-nothing, and now you're acting up again."
The innkeeper had come out to greet them early, calling for the waiter to lead the horses and feed them. When he saw Tianxiu, he paused for a moment, then gave her a look of envy mixed with disdain, clearly thinking she wasn't from a respectable family. Then he saw Shijiu helping Yuntan slowly alight from the carriage. Seeing Shijiu's face, he was astonished; how could such a good girl be with this kind of transvestite?
Nineteen said, "Boss, please bring three guest rooms."
"Two rooms." The patient, who was being supported, spoke weakly but clearly. "Nineteen, I'm afraid this illness will flare up again tonight. Could you please make do with these rooms?"
Just as Shijiu was about to agree, the boss started chattering incessantly, "How can that be? This girl looks like a lady from a respectable family, a virgin. How can she share a room with a man like you?" He gestured towards Tianxiu, "If anyone's going to serve, it'll be that young man over there!"
Yun Tan coughed twice: "She...she is my mother..." Before he could finish the word "mother," Shijiu pinched him hard, with a force no less than when he pinched Tianxiu. "My sister from my maternal family."
A bright red peony-patterned robe swayed as Tianxiu spoke softly, "Since you're still unmarried, we can share a room tonight." A smile played on his lips, and his eyes sparkled with a seductive charm, captivating even the innkeeper. "Nineteenth sister, don't worry, this good-for-nothing will be full of energy tomorrow."
A slender, pale hand reached under Yun Tan's ribs, gently lifting him, but failing. Tian Xiu's heart sank. Only half a day after taking the antidote, this man's martial arts had recovered so quickly! Yet, her face remained smiling: "Yun Tan, I'll support you, don't worry." She gently pointed a finger at his ribs, a silver needle hidden under her fingernail, about to pierce him.
Before anyone could react, Shen Yuntan reached out his right hand and gently grasped his pulse: "Tianxiu, I trust you completely. The patient is quite heavy, so I'd appreciate it if you could lend me your hand to support him."
Despite having her pulse point restrained, the smile on her face remained unchanged, though she always withdrew the long needle from her hand. Tianxiu readily agreed, "Of course, of course, Nineteenth Sister, let's go upstairs first. Yun Tan is a patient, she needs to rest more."
It would be best if that bastard never got up.
Yun Tan leaned half her body against Tian Xiu and said, "Nineteen, Tian Xiu was so tired today that he fell asleep in the car. He needs to get more sleep too. Ah, you should rest early as well."
It would be best if this fairy never woke up!
Nineteen remained completely unaware of their underhanded rivalry, only wondering why the two, who usually seemed so at odds, were suddenly so close. She gave Tianxiu a few instructions to take good care of the good-for-nothing, then returned to her guest room to rest.
As soon as he closed the door, Shen Yuntan's face turned ashen. He released his grip and sat down at the table, gasping for breath. The antidote was effective, but the process of detoxifying felt like a serious illness, and one couldn't recklessly use internal energy. He had just forcibly circulated his internal energy to hold Tianxiu's pulse, but now he couldn't hold on any longer.
