"Shan'er, stay here, stay by my side."
The man before her seemed to have transformed back into Zhang Boxuan from their first meeting, leaving Shan'er utterly bewildered.
"Shan'er, what are you afraid of?"
What was she afraid of? She didn't understand either. She just didn't want to live a life where they were family but felt more distant than strangers, nor did she want to experience the hypocrisy of torturing each other while dragging each other down in the name of love.
"No, how could I be afraid!" Shan'er shook her head fiercely, ignoring the answer deep in her heart.
Just as Zhang Boxuan was about to speak again, there was a knock on the door.
"Come in!"
"Mom, Dad!"
Xuande led Xuanling in, with Siwa following closely behind.
"Xuan De, Xuan Ling, what brings you here—" Shan Er excitedly hugged the children tightly.
"This is what family reunion is all about!" He stretched out his hands, and Xuande ran into his father's arms.
"What do you mean by that?" Shan'er glared at him.
"I want you to stay here with the children and Siwa."
"Staying here? You just say you'll stay? It's that simple?"
Seeing that another argument was about to break out, Zhang Boxuan immediately leaned close to Shan'er's ear and proposed a deal—
"If you stay here, I can reconsider the Jin Corporation's project proposal, or even implement it immediately." Zhang Boxuan was determined to get Shan'er to open her heart again.
Shan'er stared at him for a long while, finally asking in a dry voice, "Really? Not a joke?"
"I can draw up a contract with you right away."
She thought for a moment, then softened her tone and said, "I need a time limit, how many days can I stay?"
"It can take anywhere from a week to a month."
"Okay!" She knelt down. "Xuande, how about we stay here with Daddy for a few days?"
Xuande jumped up with joy. "Great! Dad, we can live together now!" Xuanling also danced with glee.
Seeing the children's happy faces, Shan'er's long-held belief began to waver. Perhaps there were things in this world that even a genius like her didn't understand.
After reaching a consensus, Zhang Boxuan immediately made excellent arrangements for Shan'er and the others' food, clothing, housing, transportation, education, and entertainment, with dedicated personnel taking care of everything.
After moving into Zhang Boxuan's mansion, Shan'er gradually discovered that the Red Gang was not the same as the gang she had imagined. Apart from wearing black suits, their daily lives were no different from ordinary people. They also had to go to work and run their own companies.
Shan'er gained a new understanding of Zhang Boxuan, who had led the Red Gang to this level, and her initial aversion to him gradually faded.

At dinner time, the happiest person was none other than Xuande, as this was something he had been looking forward to for a long time.
"Don't you need to go back to your house for dinner?" Shan'er had already started to chat with him about everyday things.
"It's been reported!" Zhang Boxuan replied succinctly, while serving food to Xuande and Xuanling.
"What's the meaning?"
"My parents would love for me to eat with you all." Zhang Boxuan chatted and laughed with the children, and even Siwa occasionally chimed in. Only Shan'er was clearly left out.
After dinner, the father and son held hands and took a bath together, their laughter echoing from the bathroom. Shan'er helped Xuanling take a bath, but Xuanling kept pouting, seemingly unwilling to accept that she couldn't bathe with her father because she was a girl.
Afterwards, the father and his two sons had a great time playing in the game room. Finally, Shan'er couldn't hold back any longer and said with a cold face, "It's too late, it's time to go to sleep."
Xuande and Xuanling still clung to Zhang Boxuan, insisting on sleeping with him.
"I want to sleep with Daddy!"
"Okay, one on each side." Zhang Boxuan's fair arbitration allowed the two children to happily lie on either side of him, and the three of them slept directly in the children's room.
They no longer need her?
Shan'er felt a pang of bitterness and turned back to the master bedroom.
She found that her importance had been rapidly declining, and she was extremely depressed.
She commanded herself to calm down, take a good shower first, and then think carefully about how to launch a desperate counterattack!
