Shen Zhifei was cornered in a small alley. There were only three people on the other side, so even if Shen Zhifei wasn't in good shape, he could escape unscathed.
However, he was in a bad mood, so he didn't stop there. Instead, he went all out, using every punch and kick with the force of someone who wanted to draw blood. The three thugs were beaten and howled, which attracted Song Xianji, who had also climbed over the wall to eat barbecue nearby.
Song Xianji stood at the alley entrance and was momentarily surprised when he saw the man, who exuded a fierce aura, wipe the blood from the corner of his mouth and walk towards him.
Unexpectedly, the student at their school who was rumored to be aloof, academically gifted, and a model student had such an unknown side.
He blocked Shen Zhifei's path and extended his hand: "Hello, top student! I'm Song Xianji from Class 2 of Grade 1 downstairs. Want to spar a bit sometime?"
Shen Zhifei didn't shake hands or even glance at him, and went straight to an internet cafe by the alley.
Song Xianji stopped eating barbecue and followed this good student, who suddenly had a rebellious outburst, into an internet cafe, only to be surprised to see Shen Zhifei watching calcium supplements online.
Real guns and live ammunition, the kind without any pixelation.
"Holy crap!" Song Xianji's exclamation was drowned out by the sounds of mouse and keyboard clicking in the internet cafe, and didn't attract Shen Zhifei's attention at all. He calmed down for a while before pulling over a chair next to him and sitting down, pulling one side of Shen Zhifei's headphones off. "Dude, are you gay?"
Shen Zhifei did not answer. The white, intertwined bodies on the computer screen were reflected in his deep eyes, turning into a small patch of shimmering, cold light.
Song Xianji scoffed. As expected of a cold and aloof person, he hadn't uttered a sound all day. Even the excited moans from the little bottom in his earphones couldn't elicit the slightest change in his expression.
"You're really something. Even though you're sitting in the corner, someone will still see you, okay?" Song Xianji nudged Shen Zhifei, but the other party remained unmoved.
Song Xianji simply sat down next to this classmate, whom he didn't even know, and watched the entire movie with him.
"Hey, those Western movies are too wild. How about I recommend a couple from Japan or Korea?"
"Get out." That single, cold word ignited Song Xianji's passion.
Since that day, he would come upstairs to the experimental class to find Shen Zhifei every time there was a long break. Although his enthusiasm rarely got a response, his efforts were eventually rewarded. Otherwise, why would Shen Zhifei take the initiative to come to him for help today?
“Let’s get this straight, just in case—and I mean just in case,” Song Xianji said, “the person you’re waiting for doesn’t come. You can’t go back on our promise.”
He stared intently at Shen Zhifei's expression. He saw that what had been a cold, clear spring under the clouds and mist had suddenly become lively, with the clouds and mist dispersing and even steaming with a hint of heat.
The change of expression was so fast that it caught everyone off guard. Song Xianji was stunned for a moment, and he saw something as beautiful as a galaxy in Shen Zhifei's eyes.
Shen Zhifei smiled faintly, grabbed his trouser leg, and pulled his swaying legs off the table. She whispered, "He's outside. Please cooperate."
The initial amazement in Song Xianji's heart suddenly turned into disappointment.
He suddenly moved closer to Shen Zhifei, whispering in his ear as if he were telling him something, "I've changed my mind. A fight is a fight, and a date is a date. I'm going to pursue you."
Shen Zhifei turned her head to look at him, her clear eyes not showing any smile. "Don't joke around."
They were standing very close, their breaths brushing against each other's faces. Song Xianji looked down at those two thin lips so close to each other, thinking that they must feel very soft to kiss.
"I'm not kidding. I suddenly like you and I'm going to pursue you." Song Xianji suddenly pounced like a cheetah, cupping Shen Zhifei's face and trying to kiss him. Shen Zhifei dodged abruptly, and the back of his head hit the wall with a "thud".
At the same time, a series of hurried footsteps sounded behind me, along with the sound of tables and chairs being knocked over and moved.
The next second, Song Xianji was grabbed by the back of his collar and flung away by a tremendous force.
Amidst the sound of tearing fabric, he staggered to one side, managing to grab the desk in his panic to avoid falling flat on his face.
"Feifei, are you alright?" Song Lang stood outside the classroom for a while, watching the two getting closer and closer. He couldn't bear it any longer and rushed over to pull them apart.
Shen Zhifei's head was badly bruised, and he was still a little dizzy. Song Lang brushed aside his hair and took a look. His scalp was red from the impact, and he guessed that a bump would form in a while. Song Lang felt really sorry for him.
"Fuck you, are you stupid?" Song Lang glared angrily at Song Xianji. "Who the hell do you think you are! How old are you to be acting like a hooligan in broad daylight!"
Song Xianji was also quite angry, but his manners and composure were much better than Song Lang's. He even had a smile on his face. "Who are you, classmate? I kissed my boyfriend, how is that being a pervert?"
Boy friend?!
Song Lang was both angry and shocked. He looked down at Shen Zhifei in his seat and asked, "Your boyfriend? When did you get a boyfriend? Didn't you tell me that you had a one-sided crush and were too afraid to confess?"
Shen Zhifei bit her lip and didn't look at him; his silence gave Song Xianji confidence.
"Oh, I'm so sorry, I didn't expect Feifei to have told you about these things. That was all in the past. Actually, I've liked Feifei for a long time..."
"Fuck you, who gave you permission to call him that!" Song Lang was furious. Shen Zhifei's silence made him feel a strong sense of bitterness and anger. "I don't agree! You fucking get the hell out of here!"
"Ha," Song Xianji's smile vanished, "Who are you, classmate? Do you have the right to say that?"
"I'm his brother! Do you think I'm qualified?" Song Lang clenched his fists, ready to punch someone at any moment.
Song Xianji turned his gaze to Shen Zhifei, raised an eyebrow and said, "Feifei, you're quite something. How many Song brothers have you been flirting with behind my back?"
"Damn it!" Song Lang spat under his breath, raised his fist and swung it at Song Xianji's face. Song Xianji was already on guard, ducked to avoid it and kicked Song Lang's lower body with his back foot. Song Lang jumped up and delivered a quick and accurate downward kick to Song Xianji's chest.
The desks and chairs in the classroom were an obstacle to their performance. Song Xianji was unable to dodge the kick, and Song Lang also failed to land safely, knocking over two desks. Both of them fell into the sea of knowledge.
"Oh, you've practiced before? I'm itching to have a match, let's go outside the school to fight." Song Xianji brushed off the footprint on his chest and beckoned to Song Lang provocatively.
Song Lang was bursting with rage and had nowhere to vent it, "Come on, I'll beat you until you're begging for mercy!"
"Alright, let's see who the real son is." Song Xianji's eyes gleamed with excitement.
The two scrambled to their feet from the scattered textbooks, craned their necks, and glared as they walked out. Only then did Shen Zhifei stand up and grab Song Lang's hand, saying, "Don't go crazy, let's go back to school."
"Am I crazy?" Song Lang grabbed his wrist with his other hand, gritting his teeth, his voice almost squeezed out from between his teeth, "Feifei, don't tell me you really have a boyfriend."
Shen Zhifei didn't deny it, but looked down at the few fingers that Song Lang was clenching on his wrist. Song Lang was very strong, and his knuckles were white, almost breaking his wrist.
"Say something!" Song Lang gritted his teeth repeatedly, took a deep breath, and slowly exhaled. Holding onto the last bit of his good temper, he asked in a low voice, "You... is it because of me? Because of what happened that day, that you suddenly started dating someone randomly?"
Shen Zhifei finally raised her head, her eyes seemingly brimming with unspoken words, but only one sentence came out: "Don't tell Mom and Dad."
