Herumrennen und kleinere Rollen spielen - Kapitel 70
"Wuyin, didn't you hear what I just said?" I frowned at him.
"Princess, the Sixth Prince instructed me to bring you back to camp tonight."
"If I don't want to, you plan to kidnap me and take me back?" My voice suddenly rose.
"Please forgive me, Your Highness!"
Damn, she really is just a princess in name only. They didn't take me seriously at all. I told you those three weren't reliable. Tian Xilan, why did you send these three to rescue me?
Without me having to choose or waste my breath, those people inexplicably started attacking again. Ye Feng disregarded etiquette and grabbed me, flying off in another direction, leaving the four guards to entangle the three guards of Zhilan Palace.
Sigh, since the princess is no good at this point, then naturally the so-called mistress is even less of a threat. I let the night wind carry me deeper into the alley, thinking with a touch of melancholy, hoping they wouldn't cause any deaths.
There was nowhere to go! I was cursing Ye Feng for being an idiot for choosing a dead end when the kid suddenly leaped over the high wall in front of me. I swayed a couple of times before regaining my footing and looked up to see a pair of eyes staring at me curiously, less than ten centimeters from my face. I instinctively slapped him hard, but the smiling eyes followed his face backward, barely avoiding my blow. The next second, his face contorted in pain as he bent over, clutching his left knee and rubbing it vigorously, while glaring at me fiercely.
Yay! I haven't used this trick in ages, but it still works today! I always use both hands and feet, attacking from above and below.
"Senior brother, did you save the wrong person?"
Senior brother? Could he be Ye Feng's junior brother? I turned my head halfway from left to right and realized that we seemed to be in the backyard of a house. The house looked pretty good, and the person in front of me was young but had a very calm and collected attitude.
"Ruochen, don't be rude!" Ye Feng scolded lightly, then added, "Have you taken care of everything that needed to be done?"
The man named Ruochen nodded, then glanced at me sideways before heading towards the house ahead. Ye Feng gestured for me to follow, and after blinking a few times, I had no choice but to obey, not knowing what was going to happen next!
"Night Breeze, what are we doing?" I was forced to put on a set of coarse cloth clothes, and then, extremely annoyed, I let that brat named Ruochen rummage around my face with a sly grin. Even a fool could tell I'd been disguised, and definitely as a toad. But if we wanted to leave the city, couldn't Night Breeze just use his light-footed skills to fly me out? Why go through all this trouble?
"Young master, we will leave the city tonight, then meet up with our master, and return to the country together." Ye Feng had also changed his appearance, dressing up as a servant, but the little brat named Ruochen remained the same.
"If you're leaving the city, just leave the city. Why go to such an unrelated place and disguise yourself? Night Wind, don't you have confidence in your martial arts skills?" I was extremely annoyed when I saw the smug look on that brat's face. Could this brat have disguised me as Zhong Kui?
"You think leaving the city is so easy? Besides, it might be even more dangerous outside the city. Don't you know how troublesome your identity is? Asking such a question shows that all the rumors are unreliable." The little brat spoke before Ye Feng, glanced at me, and then straightened his clothes, which were obviously much more luxurious than mine. His tone was even more depressed than mine, and he shook his head after speaking.
I was about to retort when I suddenly realized I had lost my confidence. Sigh, how could I be rendered speechless by a little kid?
The internal threats within the Tianqing military camp have been eliminated, but Wangyue Zongning is no pushover. It's possible that the forces Wangyue Kingdom preserved through its previous policy of non-resistance have already formed an encirclement, surrounding the three armies from the rear. How could a large nation like Wangyue only have the 300,000 troops previously annihilated and the 100,000 elite soldiers currently guarding Wangzhou City, totaling 400,000? Longyao Kingdom alone has 200,000 troops on this expedition, plus the forces still stationed in various states and borders, their total strength should exceed 400,000. If that's the case, the situation outside Wangzhou City could very well be even more dangerous than here.
Is that all? Why do I feel like things aren't that simple? That cunning fox is definitely still worried about something and plotting something. Could it be related to the rumors? Could it be related to Xi Lan?
"Young master, let's go."
Night Wind's words interrupted my furrowed brows and deep thoughts. Whatever, the fox told me to find a safe place to hide, so I don't need to worry about the war. Whether it's the three armies surrounding Wangyue or Wangyue surrounding the three armies, those guys are definitely smarter than me. Why should I worry about things when it comes to marching and fighting?
"A...a carriage?" I stared at the carriage in front of me, my jaw almost dropping to the floor. Taking a carriage out of town at a time like this? That's ridiculous!
“Yes.” The little brat spoke up before Ye Feng could. After saying that, he jumped onto the carriage and gestured for me to get on as well.
"Why are you sitting in the carriage with me? Get out and let the night breeze come up." I jumped into the carriage, and seeing the little brat staring at my face and laughing, I was so angry that I kicked him as I spoke.
"Want me to drive your carriage? No way!" He turned his head to the side, casually pulled over a low table, and stood between me and him, blocking my kicking attack.
"He's your senior brother, how can you be so shameless!"
I rolled my eyes at him, but he ignored me. He glanced at me, reached into his pocket, pulled out a small medicine bottle, poured out a pill, and handed it to me. I looked at him suspiciously and asked, "Poison?"
"I am a miracle doctor, I only save people, I don't kill them!" he said loudly, seemingly very angry.
"A miracle doctor?" I looked at the person in front of me, then looked down at the medicine in my hand, and was a little dumbfounded.
"Eat up, stop talking so much!" He said, leaning in and lifting my hand with one hand, then grabbing my chin with the other. I don't know how, but with a sudden force, the pill slid down my throat.
I pointed at him with one finger, coughing as I said, "You...you..."
Is this kid reliable? Are you sure that medicine isn't poison? I didn't think for long before I felt my head getting heavy, and my eyes were half-closed, barely able to stay open. In the last bit of clarity I had left, I heard the person opposite me muttering, "What kind of person is this? They should have fainted long ago, but they're still full of energy, and they even claim to be a woman..."
When I woke up, I found myself lying on a wooden bed. I looked around and saw a small wooden cabin, completely natural, green, and environmentally friendly.
I got up, feeling refreshed, though a little hungry. I rubbed my stomach, climbed out of bed, opened the door to look for anyone, but there wasn't a soul in sight. Ugh, where did Ye Feng and that brat Ruo Chen go? Using my keen sense of smell, I followed a faint aroma and finally found the kitchen. Good heavens, there was a whole chicken simmering in the pot! This was clearly prepared especially for me; it was so touching, so incredibly touching.
I grabbed a plate, burned my hands, and held the two chicken legs by the exposed bones, lifting the whole chicken onto the plate. Then I sat by the door, holding the plate, gnawing on the chicken while waiting for someone to come back. Although I couldn't tell which way was east or west, the feeling of the sun made me know it was almost dusk. I hadn't eaten anything all day yesterday, and this was only my first meal. I was already grateful I hadn't starved to death, so I didn't dare to be picky like before. The chicken skin didn't feel disgusting anymore, and the chicken breast didn't seem dry. Today, I didn't waste a single thing from this headless chicken; I even carefully smashed the bones. Then I licked my fingers, let out a satisfied burp, and decided to get up and get a bowl of chicken soup to nourish myself and moisten my mouth.
A shadow flashed by, and the plate in my hand vanished. I looked up in surprise and saw Ruochen staring at the plate in his hand, which was covered with a pile of chewed-up chicken bones. His face fell, and then he looked up sharply, exclaiming incredulously, "You ate a whole chicken all by yourself? And you ate it all so cleanly?"
I looked at his exaggerated expression with some surprise and nodded obediently.
"You ate all the chicken, leaving us nothing. What are we supposed to eat? How can a woman like you eat so much?" He ran in, peeked into the pot, and pointed at me with a plate in one hand while yelling at me.
I licked my fingers again, slowly walked to the pot, and peeked inside. I said innocently, "This chicken isn't very big. I haven't eaten all day, so it would be strange if I couldn't finish it. When I woke up, I didn't see anyone. I thought you guys had specially saved this chicken for me. Besides, I did save some chicken soup for you. That's the real essence."
"You!" He threw down the plate and stormed off. I winked at his retreating figure a few times, then grabbed a bowl, ladled out some chicken soup, and drank it with satisfaction, feeling a little guilty: It seems a bit unfair of me. When I was eating chicken, I was so focused on my own hunger that I didn't think to leave a couple of pieces. Even just two claws or a neck would have been better than this.
"Night Breeze!" I spotted the person at a glance and hurriedly went to greet them, also giving them a free big smiley face.
The young man's lips twitched almost imperceptibly a few times before he asked in a strained voice, "Young Master is awake?"
I nodded my head like a chicken pecking at rice, then smiled ingratiatingly and asked, "Night Breeze, are you hungry? Let's eat, there's chicken soup!"
"You ate all the chicken by yourself, and you still have the nerve to say there's chicken soup? Where did the rice come from? Did you even cook?" That brat always seemed to appear out of nowhere, always speaking at the most inopportune moments.
My smile froze on my face, and I said awkwardly, "Xiao Ye, I'm so hungry, I'm sorry."
"Young Master, Ruochen is ignorant, please don't take offense." Ye Feng said respectfully to me, then turned to the little brat and scolded him lightly, "How can you be so ill-mannered?"
The little brat pouted, looking like he wanted to rebel, but ultimately said nothing. I couldn't help but chuckle softly. It seems the little brat still listens to Ye Feng!
"Night Wind, I told you not to be too formal in front of me. Besides, Ruochen is still a child, so don't be too strict with him."
I spoke with exceptional kindness and gentleness, and I was pleased to see the little brat's face twitch a few times, his mouth move a few times, and finally he managed to utter, "I'll go prepare the food," before disappearing in a flash.
