Finally, Chen Xiao arrived at the "dinosaur era" that he was familiar with. Perhaps "familiar" is not quite the right word, since most people's understanding of the so-called dinosaur era comes from Hollywood movies.
Various more advanced creatures began to appear, and then the sky darkened.
The Ice Age is coming!
After the earth was covered in ice and snow, some giant animals began to die, including mammoths, saber-toothed tigers, and so on...
In the scene, some caves appear, and inside those caves, there seem to be some apes.
"This is an ancient ape, to be precise, your human ancestor."
The following footage focuses primarily on recording the ancient apes.
The images depict both arboreal and cave-dwelling apes. The evolution of these apes is shown in stages, from crawling to learning to stand upright, to using their forelimbs, to using simple tools, and finally to making their own simple tools.
Its body hair began to fall out, and it looked more like a modern human...
Later, classes emerged among these ancient "human beings," and the concept of "society" began to appear.
Then, the group splits, recombines, splits again, and recombines again.
Finally, a truly advanced species emerged: humans!
Classes emerged, society emerged, and groups emerged!
And then, naturally, came war!
Human clothing began to change. From being naked at the beginning, people learned to use leaves or animal skins, and gradually some handmade "clothes" began to appear.
Stone Age, Iron Age...
The visuals almost faithfully depict each process in a jump-cut manner.
Until... the advent of architecture!
Chen Xiao stared at it for a while, lost in thought. When he came back to his senses, an ancient warrior appeared on the screen before him!
The samurai, holding an iron longsword and wearing what would be considered rudimentary "armor" by modern standards, stood high on a hillside, raising his arms and shouting!
The scene then shifts to the foot of the mountain, where thousands of human warriors, weapons in hand, surge towards the enemy like a tidal wave…
And the "enemy" is also humankind!
"This is a change. Your ancestors' earliest enemies were nature, the heavens and the earth, the wind and rain, the cold, the climate... But as they evolved, their enemies became other creatures. They needed food, so they tamed other creatures and became the most advanced species in the biosphere of this planet."
However, this is not the end.
When humanity discovered that it had conquered nature and most other creatures, its enemy became itself! Humanity began to kill each other.
The screen continued to flicker.
The humans depicted in the scenes, their clothing, appearance, and weapons, gradually became more sophisticated, seemingly marking the peak of the era of cold weapons. Ancient architectural complexes began to appear: Western, Eastern, Roman, Han and Tang dynasty, and so on…
The increasingly sophisticated ironware brought the era of cold weapons to its peak.
Finally, the last large-scale cavalry charge on the screen, the scene that resembled dark clouds sweeping down from the sky, and the thunderous sound of ten thousand horses galloping, made Chen Xiao's heart pound and his mouth go dry!
But then...
The screen flashed again!
"boom!!"
The sound of gunpowder exploding, and the image shows the muzzle of a cannon.
Chen Xiao immediately understood... The era of cold weapons had ended, and firearms had begun to take center stage in history!
The images flashed by rapidly, faithfully recording the changes at each stage.
Humanity's technological capabilities became increasingly advanced, leading to the steam age, the electrical age, and so on.
Ancient cannons were replaced by advanced artillery; trains appeared, then armored vehicles. Then came tanks. And airplanes…
The scene shifts to a tank charge, and Chen Xiao even spots a Nazi swastika flag from World War II on one of the tanks.
Finally, the scene changed again, and an enormous mushroom cloud slowly rose...
"You humans have finally reached this point. You have gone from being the inhabitants of this planet to its rulers! This change in status began when you finally acquired the weapons capable of destroying this planet. But... this is nothing to celebrate."
The voice remained calm, even gentle. But beneath this gentle tone, the scene depicted a battlefield raging...
Soon, the scene shifted again, becoming interwoven. One moment, skyscrapers appeared, showcasing humanity's technologically advanced and magnificent civilization. The technology was becoming increasingly sophisticated; Chen Xiao even saw some advanced things he had never seen before, such as floating "cars," uniquely shaped buildings, and enormous umbrella-shaped towers rising above the city...
"You are consuming the planet's energy resources, coal, oil. After these inherent resources of the planet are exhausted, you begin to turn your attention to energy resources outside the planet... But no matter what, it is still consumption. You are not creating, but just desperately searching for a new energy source. You consume it quickly, and then you can't wait to find the next new energy source."
Then, the war broke out again on screen, with streaks of light like shooting stars streaking across the sky, followed by explosions!
The giant mushroom cloud and the enormous vortex, viewed from above, seemed to split the earth into pieces.
"Your evolutionary stage is a process of scrambling for resources. In the end, when energy becomes scarce, you will eventually go down this path, fighting endlessly for the little energy left, and ultimately destroying yourselves."
Amidst the flames and explosions, cities were destroyed one after another. Some of the weapons came from the sky, some from the earth, and some even from outer space...
The city was reduced to ruins, and the sturdy steel bars turned to dust!
The dust from the explosion obscured the sky, forming a thick dust cloud that blocked the sun. The temperature began to change drastically, and countless creatures died—plants, animals…everything!
Those traces of former civilizations turned into ruins, then shattered into fragments, returning to the earth as if they had never left any trace.
