Sato recognized the numbers as one, two, three, four, five, six, and twenty-one, but he really didn't dare to bet on the micro-points. However, Hank asked him, and after thinking about it, he still threw in a five-million-coin chip to make up the numbers and avoid an awkward silence. Besides, even if he lost the five-million-coin chip, it wouldn't matter. He immediately suggested changing the game and winning it back right away!
"I'll just bet 22.5 million on a small stake, just for fun!"
Hank remained expressionless. Sato hadn't misheard; it was indeed different numbers from one to six, totaling twenty-one, which was indeed high. However, he had shattered the six, leaving none. The total was actually fifteen, which was low. Although Sato had bet less, he still lost!
It was Zhou Xuan's turn. Zhou Xuan pondered how long he should play. Hank stared at him and said, "Mr. Zhou, I have a suggestion. I wonder if you'd like to hear it?"
"Please speak!" Zhou Xuan, of course, had no idea what Hank wanted to say, and gestured for him to speak.
“Here’s the thing,” Hank said in a deep voice, “One game is gambling, ten games are gambling. Gambling too much is time-consuming and mentally taxing. Why don’t we settle the matter with this one game? I have 245 million chips here. Let’s go all in. Are you willing?”
Zhou Xuan was taken aback, not expecting Hank to go all in at once. What should he do now?
If Hank wins all his bets in this round, he'll be eliminated. Only he and Sato will remain in the game. What if Sato quits? Does that mean the game is over? Then his fate will be sealed, and what will happen to Fu Ying and Wei Haihong?
Zhou Xuan's forehead broke out in a sweat!
Seeing Zhou Xuan's expression, Zhuang Zhixian also became a little anxious. This hand was too big, and he was nervous, wondering if Zhou Xuan was confident. So he asked, "Zhou Xuan, are you going to go for it this time?"
Zhuang Zhixian's words were actually a test to see if Zhou Xuan was confident. If he was confident, he would gamble with Hank. If Zhou Xuan did not place a bet, it meant he was not confident and would not gamble.
However, Zhou Xuan misunderstood Zhuang Zhixian's meaning. When Zhuang Zhixian asked him, he glanced at his watch and Zhou Xuan thought that Zhuang Zhixian was reminding him that he had to give a sign when the time was up!
Zhou Xuan then remembered that an hour had passed. He immediately said to Hank, "I'll bet you, one, two, three, four, five, six points!"
Hank chuckled upon hearing this, "Alright then. Let's bet on it, two hundred and forty-five million!" (To be continued)
Volume 1, Chapter 312: Cheating
Kyo's excitement. K. Sato's doubt, Zhuang! Xian's tension. Zhou Fu's. Tian Nai's expressionless face. A stark contrast was formed. Each person's expression was different!
Out of concern for Fu Ying and Brother Hong's safety, Zhou Xuan impulsively agreed to Hank's bet without hesitation.
Zhuang Zhixian glanced at the screen and knew that Zhou Xuan was confident. To put his mind at ease, he cheerfully picked up his phone and made a call. Once the call connected, he only said one sentence: "Safe."
With just those two words, Zhou Xuan knew that they could buy another hour.
Once it was safe here, attention immediately turned back to the gambling table. Zhou Xuan immediately counted out 245 million chips and pushed them out, leaving him with 205 million chips. His opponent, Hank, however, had nothing and had pushed them all out.
Sato thought he had lost the first round, but then won five million. In the second round, Zhou Xuan shook his head slightly. He bet twenty million, thinking he had won, but he lost. The total amount was still fifteen million. He bet another five million in this round, so he'll consider it a loss.
After Zhou Xuan pushed out his chips, Hank was more nervous than ever before. From beginning to end, he couldn't figure out how strong this young man was. At first, he didn't take him seriously, but later he felt something was wrong. Although he had used his best move this time, he was now inexplicably feeling a little guilty!
The unease stemmed from a lack of understanding of Zhou Xuan's true nature. The saying goes, "Know yourself and know your enemy, and you will win every battle." But against an unfamiliar opponent, no one can be certain of victory.
Staring at the stock betting cup on the table, the three gamblers remained silent, but Zhuang Zhixian couldn't help but urge, "Open it, open it, open the cup!"
Hank breathed on his palm. He then somewhat shakily lifted the lid!
There were six microparticles at the bottom of the cup, not one missing, not a single fragment. Hank was stunned, looking at his hands. Had his internal energy failed him?
Zhuang Zhixian roared like a wolf, "Oh—we won again! We won! We won!"
To be honest, judging from Zhuang Zhixian's actions and expressions, Hank and Sateng didn't respect him at all. But right now, they were both distracted and didn't notice Zhuang Zhixian at all, nor did they care about his shouting.
Hank was stunned and bewildered. He reached out and grabbed the edge of the table, and with a loud crack, a piece of the table broke off!
Aside from Zhou Xuan, who was aware of Hank's abilities, everyone else was taken aback, especially Zhuang Zhixian. He was genuinely shocked and felt a chill run down his spine; if Hank were to grab any part of his body, wouldn't he be reduced to a pulp?
Zhou Xuan ignored Hank and swept the chips back in front of him. Although Hank was powerful, he wasn't afraid of him and was confident he could cripple him before Hank could attack him, as long as Hank didn't use a gun.
Hank paused for a moment, his expression somewhat sinister as he glanced at Zhuang Zhixian, but ultimately made no further move.
Zhou Xuan asked Sato, "Mr. Sato, do you want to continue?"
Although he asked the question, Zhou Xuan secretly hoped that Sato would agree.
Actually, Zhou Xuan didn't need to worry at all. Once gamblers are at the table, it's not easy for them to leave. Sato had lost over ten million more, and Zhou Xuan had just swept all of Hank's chips at that table. He wasn't going to leave; he was thinking about quickly switching to a different game and winning it all back.
“Of course we’ll continue, but…” Sato said thoughtfully, “How about we try a different game?”
Zhou Xuan glanced at Zhuang Zhixian. This guy was completely absorbed in his own world; in his eyes, Sato was still no match for Zhou Xuan. How could he not make this money?
Zhou Xuan felt a sense of relief. As long as Sato was willing to continue playing, he wasn't afraid of any kind of game. What he needed now was to keep Sato tied to the gambling table so he would have time.
"Mr. Sato, which game do you want to play?" Zhou Xuan asked, staring at Sato's face as he guessed. He had heard Zhuang Zhixian mention that Sato was a notorious cheater. Usually, cheaters are most adept at playing cards and other relatively light and easy-to-conceal games.
Sato smiled and said, "Let's play something simple, let's go all in, everyone's familiar with this game."
As expected, Sato chose to play with playing cards. As for playing, Zhou Xuan wasn't afraid of him, but he was worried that if he used ice energy to transform and devour, he might cause trouble if he found out that he had fewer playing cards.
But Zhou Xuan had no choice but to agree. He would play it by ear, and no matter which way Sato chose, he could only agree. There was no room for him to object, because he was worried that Sato would refuse because it wasn't something he was good at, and that would be the end of it.
Zhuang Zhixian had his men bring over a large, unopened deck of playing cards. These cards were not fake; they had no hidden marks or see-through properties.
Sato didn't stand on ceremony. He first opened a package, peeled off the seal, took out the playing cards, straightened them, and cut them in half. He looked at both sides, then had one of his men bring him a pair of glasses. After putting them on and examining them, he nodded.
Saten
He could tell at a glance whether the cards were correct. He then put on his vision-enhancing glasses and examined the cards again. They weren't see-through playing cards. His glasses were the most advanced high-tech products in the world. If they were see-through, the principle would be the same for any type of playing card.
Zhou Xuan naturally wouldn't bother testing it. Whether it was true or false, it was all the same to him. However, the truth would definitely be better. If Sato didn't know the cards, then he would be at an advantage, because Sato knew how many cards he had up his sleeve.
If Sato were to fight him head-on, he would undoubtedly lose. Zhou Xuan's current concern is that Sato might cheat.
Zhou Xuan stared at Sato for a moment. Sato was dressed very neatly. He wore a black suit with a white shirt underneath, a black and red striped tie, and his hands were very fair, like a woman's hands.
Zhou Xuan glanced at Sato's shirt cuffs, which were neatly buttoned up, and a thought struck him. He immediately used his icy energy to test it, and what he found was truly astonishing!
