Eine eisige Aura - Kapitel 90

Kapitel 90

Pang Wan then pushed through the crowd and ran to him.

"You did a great job." He patted her head, his eyes full of affection. "I'm so grateful to have you with me these past few days."

Pang Wan blinked and softly hummed in agreement.

"Have the sect leader and young master made any breakthroughs in their martial arts?" This was her biggest concern at the moment. "Gu Xi is still up to no good, and his men could come back at any time."

"With your brother Nanyi here, there's nothing to worry about." Zuo Huai'an laughed heartily and patted the person next to him on the shoulder.

Pang Wan looked up at the Southern Barbarians.

But his lips were tightly pressed together, and his brows were slightly furrowed, as if he were lost in thought about something.

Under Zuo Huai'an's instructions, everyone quickly returned to their respective posts. The leader and Shi Jueming went to deal with the mountain of religious affairs, leaving only Pang Wan and Nan Yi in the main hall.

Nan Yi remained expressionless, his face blank.

A cold wind howled and leaves fell. Pang Wan wondered, "Could it be that he knows I've seen him transformed into Blood Tyrant? Is he now plotting to kill me to silence me?"

Thinking this, I subconsciously took a step back.

This small movement undoubtedly startled the Southern Barbarians, who frowned and looked up at her.

"Come here." He glanced at her.

Pang Wan steeled herself and walked up to him.

A cold glint flashed in Nan Yi's eyes. He glared at her and raised his right hand high.

"Senior brother, don't hit me!" Pang Wan instinctively covered her cheek.

The giant hand landed in mid-air, and the Southern Barbarians were clearly stunned.

"Give me your hand." He suppressed his anger and extended a hand to her.

Pang Wan, unaware of his intentions, could only cautiously extend his five fingers.

"Why is your pulse so strange?" Nan Yi murmured to himself, holding her wrist, his face full of confusion. "I have never seen a pulse like this before."

—It turned out they were going to take her pulse, and Pang Wan finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"Is it because thirty years of internal energy was forcibly injected, causing a temporary disorder?" She tilted her head and thought for a moment, making her own diagnosis.

"How dare you say that!"

It would have been better if she hadn't mentioned it, because the mention of the Southern Barbarians filled him with rage. He abruptly shook off her hand, and it looked like a slap was about to fall.

However, it eventually stopped halfway through.

"You'll drive me crazy one day." He glared at her, gritting his teeth, veins throbbing on his forehead. "If you dare do anything so foolish as to shorten your lifespan again, I'll strangle you before you even open your mouth, you hear me?!"

Pang Wan felt extremely aggrieved by his sudden outburst of anger and lowered her head without saying a word.

Seeing her cower like a newborn bird, Nan Yi's anger finally subsided.

“…Thank you for your hard work.” He said these four words in a hoarse voice.

Throughout all these years, from childhood to adulthood, Nan Yi has never said a single kind word to her, except for relentless pursuit, ridicule, and contempt.

This is the first time in sixteen years.

Pang Wan blinked, and large tears began to fall.

Since returning to the Moon Worship Cult, she has never shown the slightest weakness to the outside world. She is resolute, bold, and flamboyant, always displaying the demeanor befitting a holy maiden of a demonic cult. She has never been afraid of powerful enemies—because she simply has no time to be afraid.

Hearing Nan Yi's words now, the bitterness in her heart that she had deliberately ignored surged up like bubbles in boiling water.

Not knowing what to say, she just stood there wiping away her tears with the back of her hand.

However, tears seemed to be an inexhaustible, life-giving spring, and no matter how hard she tried, she could not wipe them away completely.

"Okay, stop crying!"

Seeing the girl's fair face turn red from being rubbed, Nan Yi couldn't bear it any longer and reached out to pull away her haphazardly rubbing fingers.

Pang Wan's eyes were as red as a jade rabbit's, and she bit her lip tightly.

Then the Southern Barbarians went to break her teeth again.

Pang Wan was furious and raised her fist to hit him, but Nan Yi was one step ahead of her and swallowed both of her weapons into his palm.

"I know you're suffering," he said in a low voice. "You just want to get revenge in front of him, don't you?"

Pang Wan was stunned.

She hadn't expected the Southern Barbarians to know her so well.

Yes, she didn't necessarily have to personally lead the charge in the battle, although that would undoubtedly have been more effective in deterring others. But when she made that decision, she had a selfish motive—she wanted to walk up to Gu Xi and give him a resounding slap in the face. For this, she was willing to live ten years less without hesitation.

"Now that you've gotten your revenge, are you happy?" Nan Yi sighed, looking at her lost in thought. "Was it worth it?"

Pang Wan sniffled and mumbled angrily, "Wasn't it worth it to become that awful-looking because of Mei Wu?"

The southern barbarians choked.

The two fellow disciples, who had suffered greatly, looked at each other and couldn't help but laugh at the same time.

"Fool." Nan Yi tapped her forehead.
