Eine eisige Aura - Kapitel 51

Kapitel 51

Pang Wan was in this state of mind: anticipation mixed with fear; joy mixed with hesitation; excitement mixed with unavoidable doubt. It was as if she were in a dream that was too beautiful to be real, with no sense of grounded reality.

Looking at her girlishly anxious expression, Jin Buyao felt a surge of tenderness in her heart.

"What are you afraid of?" She patted Pang Wan's head. "If he truly likes you, he will definitely cherish you. If you're worried, try to test him and see if he'll be willing to be harsh with you."

Pang Wan tilted her head and thought for a moment, revealing two small white teeth, and smiled sweetly.

After her facial injury was healed, Pang Wan spent the afternoon in the study observing and researching. Her whole heart was with the villa. She recalled the intimate moments with Gu Xiju last night, and her face flushed and her heart raced. Then, thinking of Gu Xiju's status as the leader of the alliance, she couldn't help but sigh.

He Qinglu's patience was nearing its limit. He stopped what he was doing and stared intently at Pang Wan.

He had intended to warn her with a silent but powerful rebuke, but Pang Wan didn't even glance at him once from beginning to end. Her eyes were sparkling, her face flushed, and she was sometimes smiling and sometimes sad, completely immersed in her own world.

What are you thinking about?

After a long pause, he spoke in a deep voice.

Pang Wan was brought back to her senses by his question, chuckled twice, and covered her still red cheeks.

"Young Master He, if one day someone you like does something you hate, what would you do?"

She looked at him, her dark eyes gleaming.

This question stumped He Qinglu. He had many things he disliked, but he didn't like a single person.

"I will not answer any questions that cannot exist," he scoffed arrogantly.

Pang Wan deeply appreciated the man's awkwardness, so he changed the question: "What does the young master hate the most?"

"You!" He Qinglu answered quickly and accurately this time, blurting it out without hesitation.

Pang Wan clutched her chest and feigned concern, then chuckled and lifted her chin, saying, "Oh dear, young master, don't be so direct! You'll hurt me!" Having spent so much time with Jin Buyao, she had picked up a bit of that coquettish and shameless air about her.

Seeing her obviously indifferent fake expression, He Qinglu felt a strange sense of frustration welling up inside her.

In that moment of anger, my hand trembled slightly, and a tiny speck of paint, about the size of a sesame seed, was scraped off the needle bag.

"Ouch!" Pang Wan screamed and pounced, snatching the needle bag from He Qinglu's hand. "You scratched again! You scratched again! You'll die a horrible death!" She pulled the needle bag to her chest, on the verge of tears, and punched He Qinglu.

He Qinglu's expression hardened, and she was about to get angry when she saw the girl in front of her frantically checking her needle pouch, her small, round shoulders trembling slightly, as if she were extremely sad.

She was very close to him, so close that he could smell the faint fruity scent on her.

Jin Buyao once said that women are soft, sweet, and delicate creatures, like flowers that need to be cherished. He had never bothered to agree with this statement, but now, seeing the girl's appearance, he suddenly felt a little more in agreement with the first half of the statement—he didn't know about being soft and sweet, but she was certainly fragrant.

While he was lost in thought, a sharp pain suddenly shot through his foot. It turned out that the girl, for some reason, had taken a huge risk and stomped on his foot.

"Are you crazy?" He reached out and pushed Pang Wan aside, his face showing disbelief. "You actually dared to step on me?!"

He was naturally unaware that the Flaming Needle was Pang Wan's life-saving weapon; if it were damaged, he would be half-dead even if he didn't die.

Pang Wan was both angry and furious. She raised her red-rimmed eyes and bared her teeth like a small animal, threateningly: "Who told you to break your promise?"

He Qinglu refused to admit her mistake and scolded him with a stern face: "Who do you think you are? You're stupid and clumsy, how dare you talk to me about trust?"

He was used to looking down on others and always spoke harshly to Pang Wan, completely unaware that there was anything wrong with what he was saying.

But today, Pangwan was different from usual.

In the past, she would have humbled herself and feigned affection for this arrogant young man for dozens of days just to have a fake face and to have someone love her. Now, she has finally reached her breaking point, and the pent-up resentment and anger in her chest is about to burst forth.

"Yes, I'm not worthy, but I don't care to be worthy!" She laughed angrily, tears welling up in her eyes. "Because I hate you too! I hate you! I hate you the most in the whole world!"

Five consecutive "I hate it"s unleashed all the resentment she had harbored for so long.

He Qinglu was of noble status; when had she ever been attacked so blatantly? Enraged, she pushed aside the tools on the table and roared, "Get out of here!"

Pang Wan, his voice shaking mountains and rivers, retorted, "Fine, get out then!"

After saying that, he picked up the needle bag and leaped away.

This godforsaken place! She'll never come back, no matter how much she begs! You brat, you might as well become a monk and cling to the mechanism!

In the study.

He Qinglu, her eyes bloodshot, leaned over the desk, her chest heaving as she gasped for breath.

He hates her, he really hates her.

I absolutely hate it.

Author's note: What can save you, little Hehe?

A sweet and tingling feeling in a young girl's heart

Pang Wan ran away from the He residence and wandered the streets alone.

She didn't want to go back to see the Southern Barbarians, and she didn't know where to go, so she just wandered around aimlessly for a while.

The Southern Barbarians bullied her, and He Qinglu also loathed her. One beat her with his fists, and the other verbally abused her. The further she walked, the colder she felt, and the more desolate she became.

But she wouldn't cry. Even if she bit off her tongue and swallowed her teeth, she wouldn't allow herself to shed tears for these two.

Because they don't deserve it.

While she was distracted, a carriage came speeding from behind her. The driver cried out in alarm, and she was knocked aside before she could dodge.

Thanks to her light-footed skills, she narrowly avoided the attack, but upon landing, she accidentally twisted her ankle with a "crack." The sharp pain spread along her leg bone, and she sat on the ground for a long time, unable to get up.
