Causes

After just one night, Pang Wan suddenly felt that everything was being treated better.

Pang Wan glanced at the whirling hidden weapon on the ground and realized it was a piece of bone, which made her shudder. Without a word, she lowered the curtain, attempting to keep the person outside the bed.

"Are you... feeling any better?" He Qinglu wanted to scold her for her unreasonable behavior, but after thinking about her own mistakes, she couldn't help but feel guilty, and her accusatory tone weakened.

"I can feel my legs again," Pang mumbled, huddled under the covers.

Hearing this, He Qinglu breathed a sigh of relief, walked over and sat on the edge of the bed, gently lifting the curtain.

"Who exactly are you? How did you end up here?" Pang Wan wondered, recalling the way he had instructed the maid earlier.

Pang Wan turned to look at him and said softly, "Do you know a girl named Mei Wu?"

He Qinglu was taken aback, then nodded.

"Is she from the Lonely Palace?" Pang Wan asked again.

He Qinglu nodded again.

Pang Wan then let out a long sigh and leaned back on the bed: "Mei Wu was my senior brother's fiancée. She was killed on the day of her wedding. My senior brother went through many hardships to find her and eventually found her at the Lonely Palace."

"You suspect that someone from the Lonely Palace killed her?"

He Qinglu's voice sharpened, and in the next instant, his fingers were on her pulse point.
