Chapter 3 Frostfall

[Is this a straight man???]

[Haha, what happened to the straight man we were promised?]

[I never expected that the fourth male lead would choose the third male lead.]

[Rubbing my hands together, I want to ship this couple.]

[Female guests: Listen to me, thank you...]

The comments section was buzzing with discussion. Ling Shuangjiang stood behind the beach, smiling faintly as she met everyone's gaze, and generously replied, "Sure."

Seeing Ling Shuangjiang walk towards the helicopter, Shen Ke's gaze turned hostile: "Isn't he straight? Why did he choose A-Jiang?"

Huang Shan smiled and said, "It might be a socialist brotherhood."

Shen Ke stood silently with one hand in his pocket.

Since it wasn't convenient to board the helicopter, Ling Shuangjiang grabbed the door frame, and just as she was about to lift her leg, Xie Wang reached out his hand to her. After a moment's hesitation, they clasped hands.

Xie Wang gently pulled, and Ling Shuangjiang stood steadily at the door.

On the high-definition screen, Xie Wang's strong and powerful arm muscles were clearly visible, and the obvious contrast in skin tone between the two men caused the audience to erupt in excitement.

The director cleared his throat, checked Xie Wang's driver's license again, and announced, "Have a pleasant evening."

Xie Wang gestured: "OK".

Inside the helicopter, Ling Shuangjiang fastened her seatbelt under Xie Wang's guidance, staring blankly at the increasingly smaller beach RV, and smiled wryly. The sound of the propellers above was loud, and the turbulence caused by the airflow made everything seem even more real.

So this is what it feels like to ride in a helicopter.

Xie Wang sat in the cockpit and said in a deep voice, "Are you scared?"

Ling Shuangjiang shook her head: "I'm not afraid."

Xie Wang: "Don't worry, it's very safe."

Ling Shuangjiang looked at Xie Wang's broad back and smiled gently: "Mm."

Soon, the two arrived at a private estate in the center of the island. After getting off the plane, a robot guided them and led them forward.

Ahead stood a detached villa, its surrounding flowerbeds and greenery meticulously maintained. Perhaps to avoid disturbing the couple's private time, no one else was in sight except for the little robot, and even the photographer behind them walked quietly.

"May we eat first?" Xie Wang, with his upright posture, turned around to wait for Ling Shuangjiang's footsteps after realizing he was walking too fast.

“Okay.” Ling Shuangjiang nodded.

The villa boasts a modern and luxurious interior design, consisting of two underground floors and three above-ground floors, and is fully equipped with everything one could need.

[Just got back from the other guests on the beach, and compared to them, this place is simply paradise.]

[Wow, the other guests must be so envious!]

[A lone man in a luxurious villa, completely deserted.]

[Water bath spa, private film studio...]

"This place is alright." After looking around for a moment, Xie Wang gave a serious assessment. "What do you think?"

Ling Shuangjiang: "I think it's very good."

Xie Wang nodded, and just as he pushed open the restaurant door, the bright crystal chandelier on the ceiling suddenly went out with a snap.

"What's going on?" Xie Wang turned on his phone's flashlight and asked the photographer behind him. The photographer shook his head, indicating that he didn't know either.

"Could it be a short circuit?" Ling Shuangjiang asked in a low voice, "Could we call the production team?"

Photographer: "Okay, just a moment."

At this time, Xie Wang walked outside and found that the lights in the other rooms were still on, indicating a problem with the restaurant's electrical system. The photographer then said, "It's probably an electrical fault. We can't find a repairman right now, so why don't we go eat in another room?"

The dim light from the phone shone on the dining table. There were probably more than thirty kinds of dishes here, and it would be a hassle to move them over, plus the table's heat preservation function wouldn't work.

Xie Wang: "I'll try to fix it."

Ling Shuangjiang: "You know these things?"

Xie Wang replied seriously, "I don't understand."

Ling Shuangjiang couldn't help but smile, her eyes crinkling into a smile: "Oh."

[Haha, the fourth male lead is hilarious!]

[She's kind of cute.]

[Once again, I'm amazed by the stunning good looks of the third male lead.]

"Could you hold the flashlight for me?" Xie Wang found the repair tools according to the location indicated by the little robot: "I need light."

Ling Shuangjiang: "No problem."

Xie Wang studied finance and trade for both his undergraduate and master's degrees, so he doesn't know much about these things. He has only watched others perform repairs a couple of times and learned a little bit. This time, he plans to give it a try.

There was no electricity in the room, and the temperature rose suddenly after the air conditioner was turned off.

About twenty minutes later, his forehead was covered in a thick layer of sweat, and he held up his tools with an increasingly stern expression.

The photographer was so frightened when he saw this that he dared not breathe rapidly.

From a young age, Xie Wang was prone to impatience, and his father often reprimanded him for this. Later, his decisive and efficient style ironically made the company's management system even stricter and more disciplined, so his father stopped interfering, leading his employees to secretly nickname him "The Cold-Faced Arhat." Later still, he realized he needed to change this personality trait, but he still easily became anxious and impatient in urgent situations.

"We're not in a rush, let's take it slow." Ling Shuangjiang's voice was gentle as she took out a clean tissue from her pocket. "Want to wipe your sweat first?"

Xie Wang turned his head and met Ling Shuangjiang's gentle smile, which calmed his noisy emotions.

He looked away: "Thank you. If it's tiring to hold, put it down."

Ling Shuangjiang raised the corner of her eye: "Shall I give it a try?"

Xie Wang countered, "You can?"

Ling Shuangjiang: "I often help my mother repair electrical circuits at home, so I have some experience."

After the two switched positions, Ling Shuangjiang calmly began to work. His fingers were fair and beautiful, and holding the black pliers made him look like he was handling a work of art.

Xie Wang held a flashlight, and the surrounding air seemed to cool down as he quietly observed Ling Shuangjiang.

The soft light shone on Ling Shuangjiang, making her facial features appear even more defined and clear, adding to the quiet stillness of the room.

[Look at the way you're looking at the fourth male lead, haha.]

[Their contrasting personalities are so striking, it's actually quite endearing.]

[His divine looks make even fixing circuits look like a master painter's work; his hands are so beautiful.]

[Just looking at the third male lead makes the world seem gentler.]

Ten minutes later, the restaurant lights came back on.

Xie Wang's gaze remained fixed on Ling Shuangjiang's face: "I didn't expect you to be so amazing."

Ling Shuangjiang smiled and said, "With your foundation, I'm just standing on the shoulders of giants to fix the circuit."

Xie Wang raised an eyebrow: "You have a sweet tongue."

After working for nearly half an hour, the two washed their hands and prepared to eat. At this moment, the photographer laughed and said, "I'll give you a few more close-ups; the beach side needs to broadcast your luxurious dinner here."

Ling Shuangjiang asked, "What did they eat?"

Photographer: "They gave us potatoes and tomatoes, so we made it ourselves."

Ling Shuangjiang: "Isn't that a bit much? Quickly show them this Australian lobster."

Xie Wang chuckled, surprised that Ling Shuangjiang was quite mischievous. After setting out the tableware, he said, "What I said in the RV was right, wasn't it? You'll get what you deserve if you follow me."

This statement has a touch of pride, and it also sounds like a declaration of one's own prowess.

Ling Shuangjiang thought of that melodramatic declaration, tilted her head and smiled, "Yes, indeed." Her gaze gradually fell on Xie Wang's eyes, and he raised his wine glass, deliberately pursing his lips in a smile, "Thank you, brother."

The gentle, drawn-out "brother" made Xie Wang's face flutter with a hint of unease. Although he had a younger brother named Xie Lin since childhood, Xie Lin had never called him "brother" so obediently.

After a moment, he murmured earnestly, "You're welcome, little brother."

[Hahaha, I'm dying of laughter.]

[So this is what they call socialist brotherhood.]

[Is the fourth male lead straight? I really want to ship them!]

Ling Shuangjiang suppressed a laugh and asked him curiously, "What kind of work do you do?"

Xie Wang: "Finance and Trade".

Ling Shuangjiang nodded: "Are you usually busy?"

Xie Wang: "I can be busy or not busy. Sometimes when friends contact me, I have time. If no one contacts me, I can go on without resting. After all, I can arrange my time however I want."

Ling Shuangjiang joked, "Having a girlfriend might make life a bit more interesting."

Xie Wang pondered for a moment: "Perhaps, but I think living alone is also very good. You won't be affected or disturbed."

Ling Shuangjiang pressed further, "Why do you feel that dating is a disturbance?"

Xie Wang frowned: "Almost all my friends have partners, and when we chat, I don't understand some of their behaviors."

Ling Shuangjiang became interested: "For example?"

Xie Wang: "For example, we have to hold hands when watching a movie, we have to buy matching cups, toothbrushes, towels, and pajamas, and the tenth, sixty-sixth, ninety-ninth, and one hundredth days together are all memorable anniversaries that we have to celebrate on social media..." He looked at Ling Shuangjiang: "I think either they have a problem, or I have a problem."

[It's all fine, you just haven't met someone you like yet.]

[To be honest, I thought the same thing before I started dating, but after starting, I realized how great it is.]

[So, the fourth male lead still has his first love?]

With just a few words, Ling Shuangjiang had roughly grasped Xie Wang's views on love, and he smiled without commenting. Then, he asked, "What are our plans after dinner?"

Xie Wang's thoughts were pulled back: "What do you want to do? We can exercise appropriately, or have some leisure and entertainment."

The mention of exercise made Ling Shuangjiang a little sensitive. Remembering the dumbbells, she deliberately asked, "Exercise? You don't mean weightlifting, do you?"

Xie Wang replied earnestly, "I just finished eating, so it's best not to do strenuous exercise. Would you like to go swimming?"

Ling Shuangjiang thought for a moment and said, "That's fine too."
