Une aura glaçante - Chapitre 118
"What's wrong?" Xue Beifan asked her.
"No, there's a weird feeling," Xiao Dao said, pursing his lips. "It's like being stared at by a snake."
Xue Beifan paused slightly, then lowered his head, quickly took the knife, and entered through the side gate, closing the door behind him.
"Shall we find the fifth dragon bone too?" Xiao Dao asked, looking up at him.
Xue Beifan held Xiaodao's hands very seriously, looked down into her eyes and said, "Xiaodao!"
"Hmm?" Xiao Dao was a little nervous, her face flushed. "What?"
"You must be careful of Feng Wuyou."
Xiao Dao was taken aback. "That pretty proprietress? The one who has a crush on you!"
Xue Beifan gently shook his head. "Don't be fooled by appearances. That woman is listed as one of the four great treasures of the martial arts world, definitely not because she is so beautiful."
"Then why?" Xiao Dao asked, puzzled.
"Because she's ruthless enough," Xue Beifan earnestly warned. "If you encounter her, you must be extremely vigilant and never underestimate her. She's no less cunning than Xue Beihai!"
Xiao Dao's eyes widened in surprise. "Really?"
Xue Beifan nodded, pulling Xiao Dao along as they walked back. "Also, the Beihai Sect is still in grave danger, so try to stay by my side!"
"Okay!" Xiao Dao nodded obediently.
"Everything we eat and use needs to be carefully checked."
"Um!"
"Don't leave my sight!"
"Um!"
"Sleep with me tonight!"
"Ugh... I'll kick you to death!"

[Will you exchange your true feelings?]
Wei Xinjie took out the portrait from back then, hoping to reunite with Xiaoyue.
However, Xiaoyue shook her head, saying that she wasn't him and that there must be a mistake. Wei Xinjie looked at Shen Xinghai. Shen Xinghai thought for a moment, "It would be safer to find that human trafficker from back then and have him identify him."
Wei Xinjie nodded, thinking this method was good, and then asked his subordinate, "Have you found the person?"
“The owner of the manor sent a letter a couple of days ago saying that he had found it, and he brought his men over in the last couple of days.”
"Excellent!" Wei Xinjie exclaimed with anticipation, while Xiaoyue looked saddened, Chonghua remained silent, and Shen Xinghai was filled with doubt.
In this slightly awkward atmosphere, Xiao Dao and Xue Beifan didn't go looking for the fifth dragon bone, but instead settled down to rest for the time being.
Xiao Dao and Xiao Yue stayed in the guest room. That evening, after taking a hot bath, Xiao Dao put on her newly bought lotus-colored ruffled dress and ran around the room barefoot, teasing a chubby little white cat.
Xiaoyue sat at the table, her chin resting on her hand, lost in thought, watching the flickering candlelight.
When Xiaodao got tired of playing, he and the kitten lay down on the blankets and looked at Xiaoyue.
In the stillness of the night, Xiao Dao suddenly asked, "Xiao Yue."
Xiaoyue seemed not to hear, and just stared blankly.
Xiao Dao walked up behind her and handed her a handkerchief.
Xiaoyue took the phone, wiped her face, and whispered, "Just this once, it won't happen again."
Xiao Dao patted her head. "It's alright. I'll go out for a walk. Can you lend me an oil lamp?"
Xiaoyue nodded, and Xiaodao took the only oil lamp in the room and went out. As he closed the door, he also shut out the darkness and sorrow from the room.
When Xiao Dao arrived in the courtyard, he saw that the lights were on in the two houses opposite.
The lights were on in Shen Xinghai's room on the left, and a figure could be seen slowly pacing inside.
In Hao Jinfeng's room next door, the lights were on and the windows were open. Hao Jinfeng was holding the manual for light kung fu, reciting and practicing the moves as he did so, looking so focused and carefree.
The window of Chonghua's room was open, but the light was off. Xiaodao peered through the window and saw Chonghua sitting at the table in the darkness, lost in thought. His posture was somewhat similar to Xiaoyue's earlier posture. Xiaodao suddenly smiled. Surely he didn't need to hand her a handkerchief himself? Looking at the room at the very front, which should be Xue Beifan's temporary residence, the doors and windows were tightly closed, and the light was off as well.
Xiao Dao hesitated for a moment, then ran to the threshold, slipped on his embroidered shoes, deftly lifted the heels, grabbed a quilt that had been left out to dry all day, and carrying an oil lamp, strolled off to the back.
He navigated the long corridors, gardens, kitchen, houses, and ancestral hall with practiced ease, opened the side gate at the back of the mountain, and looked down... Inside the small house by the waterfall, lights twinkled. Xue Beifan, however, was not inside the house. Instead, he sat alone by a bonfire by the waterfall, drinking wine, with two dozing wild dogs beside him, seemingly even more docile than domestic dogs.
Xiao Dao was afraid that he would slip and fall down the steps in the dark, so he used his internal energy to leap towards the campfire.
When Xue Beifan looked up, Xiao Dao had already landed lightly beside him, holding a quilt in one hand and an oil lamp in the other, tilting his head to look at him.
Xue Beifan reached out and pulled her. Xiao Dao put the oil lamp aside, shook the blanket and draped it over herself. She held out a hand to Xue Beifan, sat down next to him, and stared at the campfire in front of her.
Xue Beifan continued drinking. Xiao Dao looked down and noticed a large stray dog rubbing against his knee. He reached out and carefully stroked its big ears. The dog whimpered a few times and then lay down next to Xiao Dao to continue dozing off.
"It doesn't bite!" Xiao Dao exclaimed in surprise.
Xue Beifan pulled the blanket up for her and added some firewood to the fire to make the flames burn higher. "They are not inherently ferocious; they just have to eat meat to survive."
Xiao Dao looked up at him and asked, "And what about you? Are you a meat-eater or a vegetarian?"
